That 7mateHD watermark we have to endure in Sydney certainly isn’t neat.

Another candidate for worst watermark? Surely there must be some sort of “align” function available to whoever puts these together.

Great to see the HD watermarks back on Seven.
I can only imagine the 7HD has the better/neater looking “7HD” watermark, because 7Mate isn’t the focus of their HD station nationally. If that makes sense?
I mean, all the AFL promos say “on 7HD, Channel 70” (not 7MateHD)

Of course it was originally made for the AFL and major sport events - which are switched to the main channel channel anyway
(e.g.) Olympics, AFL Grand Final, Melbourne Cup, Australian Open, etc

The last I checked, more markets and more of the population get 7mate in HD rather than the main channel in HD.
Maybe in Melbourne, but I’ve seen some “7mateHD Channel 70” promos for AFL coverage air here in Sydney from my limited observations.
So far, Seven have only run a HD simulcast of the main channel in all markets for the duration of the Rio Olympics. It remains to be seen whether or not they actually plan to do that for the other major sporting events you mentioned.
Personally though, I wish that Seven would just bite the bullet and run a full time simulcast of the main channel in all markets. It especially annoys me how Seven still call the channel “7HD Sydney” in the EPG when it’s actually 7mateHD Sydney!

Well maybe it’s just because “7” is the main channel? Or it was the original between 2007 & 2009? Or it just looks better?

The only thing TEN has over 9 in this situation is the alignment of the text, both are far too large and intrusive though.

Have been watching Channel Seven Melbourne for the past two hours and there has been no watermark whatsoever. Is it an error or has it been permanently changed to nothing…?

Same here in Sydney, I’m guessing it’s a glitch.
Not the first time that the watermarks have gone missing on some of Seven’s channels in recent times either, I might add…
We’re now getting the “HD” part, but no “7”.
No watermark in Perth aswell although I did switch the channel to see if there was a watermark. 10 seconds of Zumbo’s Just Desserts was enough to bare.
In Adelaide only the ‘HD’ part of the 7HD watermark was showing during the beginning of Home and Away (I didn’t keep watching), but at the moment the whole watermark including the ‘HD’ bit is currently MIA. The watermark addition plugging Zumbo’s Just Desserts was showing during ad breaks, including a news update…

I am surprised that 7 went several hours last night with no watermark.
I noticed it too during “Winners And Losers”. I kinda expected it to return almost any second at first, but then I relaxed and enjoyed a rare bit of watermark free TV viewing, just like the good ol’ days 
You would think that someone would have been available on site at their Melbourne HQ to fix that at the time, given also it was prime time viewing.
