It’s a stylised version of the same diagonal graphics used by 7NEWS. Telethon used to be quite rough around the edges visually in previous years, but they’ve standardised the graphics since the 2020 Network-wide refresh.
And it also looks more playful, which suits the occasion.
I think someone mentioned that this happened for a weekend earlier this year? Interesting that they’ve made the change permanent. Is it the same on Kayo?
That shot is from Kayo. I don’t have standard Foxtel so I’m unsure whether it is the same there (assume it would be)
It’s the same on Foxtel GO, also the coloured border is gone for Motor Racing and Golf. Could be just a temp thing.

Well that didn’t last long! HD watermark is back again on Fox Cricket
I would prefer they keep the HD watermark, makes it look more whole & complete.

The first official of probably many Nine-Olympics presentation to come over the next 6 months. I wonder if Nine feel tonight will be their biggest ratings for a while (possibly higher than Carols and maybe until the Australian Open bar a major national news event), so have rolled out an Olympics watermark add-on tonight.
Pretty restrained as far as watermarks go these days, would still be better if it faded out after a while. How to piss off viewers 101 right there.
