That is the normal HD watermark these days, I think since last year for sports-related discussion shows with the main Seven mark.

Clean and simple notification for viewers on air for seconds instead of the intrusive visual pollution on the commercial networks.

Isn’t this shown when there is information that is no longer correct?
Not a watermark though, unless that stayed on for the entire program. Not usual practice, unless there is something that may be out of date, like a home viewer competition and phone number.

Channel 8 watermark during the Footy Show Grand Final in 2000 when NDT Darwin was on LCN 8 instead of LCN 9

Yup. Having that watermark must have been handy at the time to distinguish between WIN Ballarat and WIN Mt Gambier given the significant overlap in the coverage areas.
