They still haven’t updated from Prime to Prime7, or from NBN to Nine.
March 2020 channel listings:
Is there a placeholder on VAST News 4?
Still just the loop.
Wonder if VAST will ever end up getting 9life, 7flix and the horse racing station?
I want 9Life - said nobody ever…
Up to the broadcasters to deliver these channels unfortunately. Southern Cross and Imparja are responsible - except in WA where its up to WIN and GWN.
9LIFE was on the WA bouquet for a couple of months when WIN still had the (primary) Nine affiliation, that went out the window once WDT started carrying 9, GO and GEM. RACING.COM is available on the WA bouquet via GWN
Got word today that the VAST Regional News channels have moved from Canberra to NPC Media Hub. This must conclude the move as I think all channels have now left Canberra?
The placeholder is the same. Looks slightly worse with those gradients really showing.
However, the quality of the channels has improved.
The loop remains unchanged.
Thanks for that.
Kind of ironic that Nine set up NPC, but there’s no channel for Nine News Regional, be it for full bulletins (even though they are not on at the moment) or for the updates they are currently.
Hopefully they’ll be added when (or if?) the full bulletins are back on air.
Looks like they can put 1 more channel in the win news section with 404. Newcastle, Northern NSW
Good to see that an opportunity to rationalise that offering took place as well
Nice to see they’re still pretending that the Nine News updates on Channel 410 don’t exist.
If I had access to a satellite dish and the right patch of sky to aim it towards, I would love to do a comparison in TSReader comparing terrestrial DVB-T broadcasts with VAST.
It has been mentioned previously that VAST gives a considerable better picture quality than DVB-T, because the bitrate is higher.
I can do some screenies if you want?
Edit: Better yet, here’s an export of a transponder with some ABC’s. I’m not sure how to do a proper same time comparison with TSReader though.
Nine News Local has recently been added to the Regional News service. It’s using the old WIN News Wagga/Orange channel on 404:
Edit: They stretched the placeholder, not me!
Still listing “Bundaberg” and “Albury” as WIN News bulletins even though they were axed some time ago!
They’re also missing Toowoomba on 414.
As suspected, it’s the full bulletins in the order that channel names suggests, starting at 7pm AEST I think (will have to check tomorrow)
1900 Nine News Local Victoria
1935 Nine News Local SNSW
2010 Nine News Local Qld
SNSW currently showing:
Edit: Yep, Qld bulletin began at 2010:
Changes to the ABC multichannels on VAST from tomorrow for ABC Kids/Comedy and ABC ME.
