American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has revealed the upcoming eighth season will be a crossover of season one’s Murder House and season three’s Coven.

NBC is the first broadcaster to reveal premiere dates for the 2018-19 Fall season. Most of its shows will launch in the first week of the season (week of September 23).

NBC has axed Timeless for the second and final time. NBC briefly cancelled the show last season before reversing course and ordering a second season. The broadcaster and production company Sony are still in discussions about a two-hour movie to wrap up cliffhanger at the second season finale.

CBS has revealed premiere dates for the 2018-19 Fall season. As posted in Survivor (US) thread, season 37 of reality series kicks off on Wednesday September 26. Without Thursday night NFL for the first time in four years, CBS will rely on its popular comedies and dramas to attract viewers. The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon will launch their new seasons on Monday September 24 before settling on their regular Thursday slots three days later, Bull moves to Mondays while Magnum P.I. and Murphy Brown debuts on September 24 and 27 respectively.

Nominations for this year’s Emmy Awards were announced overnight. Game of Thrones receives 22 nominations, followed by Westworld’s 21 and The Handmaid’s Tale on 20. Aussie Yvonne Strahovski is nominated for a Supporting Actress award for The Handmaid’s Tale.
Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown got six nods, including two personally for Anthony Bourdain (who died last month) as executive producer, host and writer.
Sandra Oh has become the first nominee of Asian descent in the leading actress in a drama series, for her role in the BBC America series Killing Eve as a spy hunting a female assassin.
Netflix has the most nominations with 112 (including Creative Emmys), more than any of America’s FTA networks.

Strange headline for an Australian audience. I can see very similar headlines being used in US outlets but when the SMH has to explain what it means in the first sentence it seems to defeat the purpose of a headline.
Hulu has released all episodes of the fourth season of UnREAL, also announcing it is the final season of the series. All episodes are now available in Australia on Stan.
Some residents in the Sydney northern beaches suburb of Narrabeen are upset about the disruption caused by the production of the US Sony television series Reckoning in the area. There have been complaints about traffic problems, excessive noise and bright lighting at night causing sleep problems. Filming around Sydney is scheduled to continue until October.
A reboot of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer is in development with original series creator Joss Whedon involved.
Ryan Murphy has revealed the eighth season of American Horror Story will be called Apocalypse.
ABC is the last network to announce the Fall premiere dates, after settling on the starting date for Roseanne spin-off The Conners. New programs also include The Alec Baldwin Show, and Dancing with the Stars spinoff Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, which will focus on young celebrities and kids of celebrities on the popular dancing program.

AMC has renewed Better Call Saul, Fear the Walking Dead and McMafia for new seasons.
For the week 16-20 July Spanish language network Telemundo was the number 1 broadcast network 7-11pm Monday-Friday for adults 18-49 in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, and was the number 1 Spanish network 18-49 nationally beating usual leader Univision. Telemundo’s success beating the English language networks in the two biggest markets was primarily due to a new sports reality program Exatlon.
