US Politics

Indeed. I would like to see Hugh involved here as he is excellent at rolling news coverage.

Funnily enough Studio 10 doing US election coverage yet we got SFA for our own Federal Election.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

Network Ten management: Please, please consider getting Robert McKnight into the newsroom already! Rob’s done wonders for Studio 10 and I could imagine him doing great things for Ten’s main news service as well.

Karl Stefanovic is heading to the US and will begin the U.S Election coverage overseas from Monday.

According to Nine’s promo it will be live from Time Square.

They are taking ABC AMERICAS coverage, which is broadcast from Times Square, so maybe that’s what they are talking about?

Poor choice again after his performance during the debates. Isn’t anyone available from Nine News? The network should be using this to promote their news talent.

He’s essentially the face of their newscaf division. Kinda makes sense that they’d send him.

On Today this morning they crossed to Laurie Oakes in New York.

Even though Karl is no stranger to Election coverage (both state and federal, if I’m not mistaken), I personally would’ve thought that Peter Overton is currently the main face of Nine News for major news coverage on a national basis alongside the Sydney 6pm news/60 Minutes commitments.

Karl will be live from Times Square according to the promo.

No one outside Sydney knows Overton.

The one benefit of having national breakfast programs is building a national profile. Overton doesn’t have that luxury, and so most from outside NSW probably know him as the guy from 60 Minutes.

Nine have a studio of their own in Time Square for this broadcast. They also have a studio in Sydney and as noted will be taking parts of ABC News America’s coverage.

Er, he hosts Nine’s Australian election coverage…so to suggest this is a poor choice for some token American coverage by Nine is laughable.

Further, as to the quality, Karl and Lisa delivered election coverage this year which was even better than the ABC’s very poor effort.

So, I think an excellent choice.

The Clinton’s attended Trump’s last wedding, Trump donated to Hillary Clinton’s’s senate campaigns and to the Clinton Foundation, and Trump and Bill Clinton were golfing buddies, etc. This article asks if the hate there is now all fake?

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are the ultimate frenemies.

True but Nine News Sydney need to be watching their ratings ATM so taking Pete over to the U.S. would not be the network’s priorities.

Thanks.

He did host the coverage of the 2012 US Election.

I wasn’t suggesting that Pete should be taken over to the US, but rather to present any Sydney-based element (I have little doubt that there will be one, as there has been in the past) of Nine’s US Election coverage.
