US Late Night Shows

Isn’t it the same as when religious content buys a block of airtime and uses the entire space as they wish?

Yep.

Yes but in this case the ad sales money goes to Allen, so he’d be paying a premium.

“It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he’s almost 80 and she’s younger than I am. It was not by any stretch of the definition a call to assassination. And they know that,” Kimmel said. “I’ve been very vocal for many years speaking out against gun violence, in particular. But I understand that the First Lady had a stressful experience over the weekend. And probably every weekend is pretty stressful in that house. And also, I agree that hateful and violent rhetoric is something we should reject. I do. And I think a great place to start to dial that back would be to have a conversation with your husband about it.”

When it comes to the barrage of nonsense coming from this White House, sometimes no response is the best response.

Disney has clearly learned its lesson from last year’s Jimmy Kimmel media firestorm, when it temporarily benched the late night host in the wake of threats from FCC chairman Brendan Carr. As Carr continues to weaponize the agency to take on critics of Donald Trump, his actions have even earned him rebukes from his own party (including Sen. Ted Cruz). What’s more, Trump’s demands that Kimmel be fired over a monologue joke rings especially weak given some of the president’s often divisive and violent rhetoric.

The claims come from celebrity gossip columnist Rob Shuter, who wrote that the network is unlikely to renew the late-night host’s contract despite publicly backing him amid the network’s latest controversy.

One report from a gossip columnist. Surprised MW ran with it. Very odd.
