Get ready to dive headfirst into the brilliantly chaotic mind of comedy powerhouse Urzila Carlson when her brand-new sketch comedy series Urzila premieres on Wednesday 29 April at 9.25pm on ABC TV, with all episodes available on ABC iview.

Urzila is gleefully outrageous, capturing Carlson’s fearless, no-filter approach to comedy in full flight. Each episode mashes up razor‑sharp stand‑up with cheeky, fast‑firing sketches, many of them plucked straight from the wildly funny stories she riffs on during her live shows. The whole thing crackles with mischief. It’s a TV series powered by two decades of stand-up comedy chaos: bold, boisterous, and unmistakably Urzila.

Joining her on this energetic ride is her handpicked ensemble of rising comedy talent: Bron Lewis, Carlo Ritchie, Andy Saunders and Anisa Nandaula. Together, they bring a fresh, contemporary edge to the series, showcasing a dynamic mix of character work, cultural commentary and laugh out loud moments.

Original and unapologetically funny, Urzila is a vibrant new showcase for one of the world’s biggest comedy stars and an exciting spotlight on the next wave of performers already shaking up the comedy scene.

9.25pm on Wednesdays? Wouldn’t it be better to air it at 9pm, straight after The Weekly?

And good old Sam Pang. Hopefully his role in this will be longer than his appearance in Fisk. lol

Won’t The Weekly have finished its run by then?

I’m not actually sure? I just assumed it will be on. Sorry.

Yes final of The Weekly is 22 April.

Gruen returns the same day as Urzila 8pm

Drop straight into comedic chaos as stand-up funny woman Urzila Carlson ricochets between live stand-up and bombastic sketches in her first stand-up comedy sketch show.

Dropping straight into the chaos, Episode One ricochets between live stand-up and a barrage of escalating sketches. Urzila is diagnosed with “early onset Karenism,” hijacks TV development meetings with deranged reality-show pitches, endures a women’s health check-up that spirals into surreal humiliation, demolishes a wedding cake tasting, and inserts herself into an underworld heist purely on the strength of having watched every true-crime documentary ever made.

Anchored by Urzila’s blistering point of view and featuring Sam Pang as a guest star, the episode sets the tone for a series that’s unapologetically loud, stacked with mayhem, and most importantly funny

Loving the show as seen on screeners from ABC. Great original combination of Ursula doing standup used to link comedy sketches based on her routine. Very fresh format with great supporting cast as well. Hopefully the whole series can emulate the early eps.

Just binged the entire season. If you like Urzila’s comedy, you’ll like this show. The 23min eps fly by.

Good to have some sketch comedy on television again. After the first episode, some of the sketches are great but some are a bit ordinary. Enjoyed it overall.

Julia Morris was excellent as the manager of the Nursing home for Karen’s. Would love to see her back doing some acting. Perhaps 10 could find a project for her
