Thankyou for this insight.
I meant that it seemed to be all over fast ? There was no suspense⌠it just seemed like adults chasing each other on a course. Holey Moley though it wasnât my favourite seemed more exciting slightly.
Third in its timeslot on debut and only just ahead of the ABC.
DOA are the words I think youâre looking for.
This has been commissioned for 4 weeks yes?
Correct, just 10 episodes, so it will be over pretty quickly.
Not sure if this means anything but in the US the ratings started off really high and it just kept going down and down to the 10th episodeimage|107x368. Though thatâs theUS so 1 million is bad ?
Though Seven said at the time last year " The showâs launch on Fox in the US marked the broadcasterâs highest-rated and most-watched unscripted summer debut in eight years."
If Seven doesnât want to broadcast cricket next summer (as its CEO James Warburton has been saying many times), then it should renewed Ultimate Tag for the second season, and air it over the summer non-ratings period, once per week.
With a debut audience of just 447,000 and 7th in the key 25-54 metric, no-one can use the multiples airings per week excuse for the results yet. Even if the show doesnât lose a single viewer across the rest of the season, this will be the only season of the show.
Wow. Half of the audience left in the US on the second episode.
Back to the drawing board Seven. You lot sure know how to ruin shows with any potential to shine through.
Now some new and compelling formats for 2022 please.
Anyone know what show will be after Ultimate Tag? The Voice?
It wonât be The Voice. Blind auditions finished in late February but filming for the finals is yet to begin.
I reckon it will be Big Brother.
Quite easily. I do watch programming on the other networks when it interests me!
It may shock some people here, but personally I donât think Nineâs recent primetime programming is much better than the offerings on Seven or Ten - only seen as âthe least worst optionâ by many viewers who probably donât have the far more inventive lineups of the ABC or SBS on their radar.
Melbourne is the biggest TV market
While true, thatâs not really the point I was trying to make.
I also think weâve got to look elsewhere for a reason behind Ultimate Tagâs poor ratings, especially when over 300k Melbournians (just 2k less than the figure in non-public holidaying Sydney) were watching MAFS last night.
That wasnât my point either. Scheduling on public holidays is always an odd concept, especially for premieres or specials.
The show is executed poorly, worse than Holey Moley.
The premise has some potential and Seven shouldâve built this show as event TV and inject some excitement and buzz. The promos look like a cheap Ninja offshoot and no real incentive to watch. Top it off with a terrible scheduling decision.
The national program department (Seven Sydney) wouldnât have even considered or thought about a long weekend in Melbourne.
I do agree though, itâs not the best night to launch a new show, but then again you canât push a dead horse either.
Wait there will be a second season?
