Flashez 1976-1977 with 425 episodes. Found the last episode on YouTube. Aspiring pop singer Mike Meade sang a song he just released and actual singer Ray Burgess performed too.
How did Paul Ramsay/Prime Network/Prime TV end up getting the Seven network affiliation for aggregation in NSW and Victoria in the first place? Iām sure it was in 1987 not long after Christopher Skase bought the Seven Network.
Just looking for a bit of help from the MediaSpy community.
Curious to find out if Doug Mulrayās Naughty Home Video show aired in Adelaide and Perth? And if yes, was the broadcast cut at the same time in all states?
Living in regional Victoria, my memory is that the show was advertised to air, but WIN made the decision to change its schedule late on the day of broadcast. Meaning we didnāt get to see any of it.
Iāve always been curious why WIN made that decision.
Hmmm, perhaps WIN did different things in different states???
That was the 2008 airing with Bert Newton intro, clearly as itās 16:9 and the latter mappy logo.
It wasnāt uncommon for WIN (and NBN) to opt out of some networked programming during the early/mid-90s - there was a discussion the other day in another thread (which one, I canāt remember) about another program that WIN & NBN had opted out of
Yes, WIN was prone to occasionally breaking away from affiliate programming, but my memory was that this decision was made on the day of TX.
I was always a bit suspicious WIN may have found out something about the content
quite possibly - I donāt think they ever explained the breakaways (mind you, living in NBN land it was mostly to broadcast more localised content like Newcastle Knights games)
Over last couple of days Iāve heard talk back radio callers in Adelaide and Perth talking about watching the show get cut off mid broadcast. Given the different timezones it seems strange it was allowed to air at all.
What show replaced it?
If they just had the feed on a standard delay system, given the lack of common ownership they might not have had a heads up about what was happening on the feed - possibly assuming that someone at NWS/STW would be watching the live feed and notice?
Episode of Cheers, I was watching it when the shit hit the fan
There was even a part in this special where they purportedly let it cut out and the cheers episode comes on. I remember this it was great.
What location were living in when you saw the episode cut out?
Adelaide and Perth had separate ownership at the time, didnāt they? Which may explain why they didnāt pre-empt - particularly Adelaide, it wouldnāt have been enough time to get it organised.
I was in Living in Pakenham watching GTV-9
Since it was before social media or even the internet, we had to wait until next morning to find out what actually happened when some sketchy explanation was reported on breakfast radio.
Wikipedia says that Perth didnāt get ANHV back in 1992.
