On-air identification for GET 10-4-5a.

Both of those changes happened during GET’s existence (it didnt end until '87) - I suspect that all the networks adopted the GET branding and then elected to move away from it
Searching for GET online has unearthed a bit of a treasure trove of scans that people might be interested in - this one stood out:

Really disappointed they didn’t use a great slogan like GET it on!
Or Get off.
I want to have a look at one music channel on Foxtel back in 1995 named Red (before Channel V). And we’re going to look at the videos that were playing on the promo. The clips were very fast so I slowed it down and we can see that clip of the music video what it’s playing. Remember not all clips were in this post but there’s many songs that were in this promo. Let’s begin.

Here it is. I might name the songs too…

Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box

The Cruel Sea - The Honeymoon is Over

I’m pretty sure that’s Garbage.

I am not a fan of KISS.

That’s Hole but I’m not sure what name of the song in the music video.

I researched it. It’s Primal Scream - Rocks.

Roachford - Only Want to Be with You

Joan Osborne - One Of Us

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ft. Kylie Minogue - Where The Wild Roses Grow

It’s Prince but I researched the scene and it’s not The Most Beautiful Girl In the World.

What is that???

Garbage - Stupid Girl

Michael Jackson - Earth Song

Please tell me it’s Alanis Morissette - You Oughta Know…

TISM - Greg! The Stop Sign

It’s U2. I’m pretty sure it’s from the Even Better Than the Real Thing

Crowded House - Distant Sun (I think. It’s more like the Fall At Your Feet Music video.)

The Prodigy - Firestarter (i think)

Pearl Jam - Jeremy

Silverchair - Tomorrow (US Version) (OK. I don’t understand why MAX/Channel V plays the Australian version.)

Sherry Crow - All I Wanna Do (I’m pretty sure)

Midnight Oil. But I’m pretty sure it’s from the King of the Mountain music video.

That’s look like Green Day.

Now That’s Bush - Everything Zen.

That’s not Veruca Salt (I think.)

Everclear - Santa Monica

Diesel - Tip of My Tongue

Oh not Guns n Roses. We all know Axel Rose causes trouble.

Oh we’re at the end now?
Well that do you think of the video? Here is a link to it.
(The video is not mine.)
Was this obscure GO! ident even used outside of WIN areas, since I presume WIN might’ve produced it [based on the 60-second “channel launch” promo and some other program promos]? And was it ever used after 2010, despite a similar [but shorter] music edit being used in the later 15-second “dancing” idents?
Given a recent discussion about GET, I just happened to stumble upon this ad in The Age newspaper from 1982:
Yes, it’s literally in the video you just quoted.
Until the close of analogue transmission. Now covered by VAST
RTQ-7 Translators.
1969: Cracow VHF-5, Blackwater/Bluff VHF-10.
1971: Gladstone VHF-10.
1982: Emerald VHF-6.
1983: Springsure VHF-10.
1984: Boyne Island/Tannum Sands UHF-69.
???: Capella VHF-9, Alpha UHF-51.
Capella: 1982
Alpha: 1986
When did SAS-10 acquire a UHF channel?
I think all the Adelaide channels established UHF translators in the Adelaide Hills around 1980.
What time Channel 7 changed its logo back in 1 January 2000? Did it show fireworks before the new logo or what?

I don’t know. I taped the news on NYE and it had the old logo and I only saw the new one for the first time when channel flicking at around 3am … obviously a very late night ![]()
So it changed sometime between 6.00pm NYE and 3.00am NYD.
why 6PM? There was a AFL match on NYE on Channel 7 after 6PM or something.
You know there’s also Today Tonight and Home and Away too? (Edit: Home and Away doesn’t air on Christmas break)
Because that was the last time i was watching TV before new year’s day.
Yes?
Have you got the TV Guide of 31 December 1999?
