9 pulling in amazing figures though they must be looking at their news numbers in Adelaide with concern. Consistently well behind 7 news and unable to improve despite the rest of their schedule garnering +50% share.

50k is a good number for Sunrise in Melbourne.
What happens when previous owners didn’t invest in the market, plus have reporters come and go when Seven has invested in Adelaide, and has long running presenters and reporters.
9Go!’s 6pm overflow audience seems to be disappointing, unless I’m missing something, previous Olympics and Comm Games, even Nine’s own Aus Open, used to all rate well and rank.
Apart from the channel change messages, which TBH do look a little convoluted with the “channel change” upside down on the side, I’ve noticed the hosts don’t always interrupt and verbally announce, like just before at 5:59pm, nothing from Lelia and Dylan and cut straight to Nine News upon the finish of the Triathlon, yet on Sunday and Monday they did.
And this when Nine News doesn’t look as high as it could or only Brisbane and Seven News doing better especially Melbourne. Maybe Seven are taking some audience away after 5pm, before they return to 9 at 7?
Not when one of your competitors is more than double that audience
If you take it just at face value, I agree, but given the competition, it’s great. And there’s many days it doesn’t get 50k in Melbourne.
Seven appear to be nabbing some share in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and regional Australia.
In Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, Seven News with an increased Chase audience possibly to thank, as well as the latter two’s longer news bulletins and being smaller markets. And for regional, 7LocalNews 7QLD and 7NewsTas might be the main contributors, but also WIN’s lower penetration Victoria and regional WA (plus 7News Regional WA).
Not that it really matters, because Nine are still destroying every market across the country.

The test is whether there’s any long term uptick for 9, apart from what they’ve already seen of late.
The news on Monday and Tuesday was read live from Paris.
Brenton did the 6pm solo and only Sport/weather was done back in Adelaide.
Today news was read by Kate in Adelaide and “a normal” new service was had.
Be interesting to see if Adelaide people watched it or not, but still some shocking numbers from Adelaide at 6pm.

They had a similar format on Saturday and Sunday with Alice Monfries in Adelaide - Nine won Saturday, but Seven narrowly won on Sunday (probably helped with local AFL lead in) - since then Nine’s numbers have dropped.
