The third episode of Seven’s latest reality offering My Reno Rules dropped to 545k to land fourth at 7.30pm. That compares to the launch episode that had 638k a week ago and episode two that had 693k last Wednesday.

This week it was up against The Hundred With Andy Lee that saw the season 9 premiere to 739k. That was up on the season 8 that commenced with 707k in early April last year.

Over on 10, MasterChef Australia’s first invention test of the season had 678k to be up 20k week-on-week.

ABC’s 7.30 had 846k for a timeslot win with Foreign Correspondent that followed at 8pm lifting 100k from last week’s episode to 619k.

Later, episode two of this year’s The Cheap Seats was a timeslot winner, up 30k on the season premiere to 469k. That was just ahead of Clarkson’s Farm, up 20k to 466k while Doc had 319k.

ABC’s Judgment: Cases That Changed Australia got a nice 80k boost to 366k this week for a season high.

Later, 10’s Late News was the top late news bulletin for the second consecutive day and made the top 30 with an impressive 225k.

The top two programs of the day were the 6pm news bulletins with Seven News on 1.47m ahead of Nine News with 1.322m. After yesterday’s episodes got a public holiday boost numbers were still high at 5pm with Tipping Point on 816k to lead The Chase with 734k.

By 7pm, ABC News was number one with 1.031m was just ahead of A Current Affair that had just over one million while Home and Away had 957k. Millionaire Hot Seat made the top 30 for the second time this week with 354k.

Sunrise had earlier scored another big win with 428k ahead of Today (313k) and News Breakfast (258k).

ABC no.1 at 7.00 and 7.30 - rare occurrence?

Seven needs to rethink their evening strategy - their 7.30 crash of 412,000 was the largest of any network by a distant mile.

MRR slumped from last week and was no match for the season premiere of The Hundred. There are five more episodes to go (including the finale where the winners of the two houses will be drawn).

I think its time for Seven to not make more Renovation type shows in the future. It just doesn’t work well for them.

Confirmed that it is a flop now.

Oof 315k in metro. Not that long ago a network would have been savaged for a figure like that at 7:30

House Rules built over time for 7 and was doing quite well, then suddenly The Block which was fading had a resurgence. Anything else 7 has tried in this genre hasn’t worked. Move on to something else.

MRR came a distant third in Melbourne where the two houses were redeveloped. Not ideal.

IMO My Reno Rules was lucky to get a boost for the second episode - mainly because MasterChef didn’t air that night. It probably might rate better on Wednesday away from The Hundred up against Nine’s Events That Changed Australia.
