Seven won Tuesday prime time after a big ANZAC Day afternoon of AFL. Seven’s share was up one on the previous week while 10 also improved to its best Tuesday result of the survey. Nine, ABC and SBS all lost ground slightly.

Seven News was the highest rated bulletin of the year, only the second time over one million including the year’s second +400k bulletin in Melbourne. That followed the AFL reaching almost 700k compared to last year’s 573k.

The reality contest was close with Farmers steady with the previous week while Lego Masters was up 70k and I’m A Celebrity was up 40k. In 25-54 Lego was 6th, 3k ahead of I’m A Celebrity that was 7th and Farmer 11th.

Several other shows did well, the public holiday boosting viewing including Frozen Planet II that was up almost 50k while The Project posted a 2023 weekday high. The premier of Accused was well outside the top 20.

Nine News also posted a 2023 rating while for ABC News it was the fourth bulletin to rate over 600k this survey.

The NRL on Nine managed 283,000 compared to last year’s game that had 333,000.

Meanwhile Great Australia Stuff was down again to a season low.

Also some big numbers for both the AFL and League on Foxtel. Last year’s games had 301,000 and 279,000 respectively so some big increases.

The Anzac Day AFL match was a thriller in front of a record crowd, so deserved a big TV audience.

The figures may be adjusted as it included the AFL post-match presentations from 6pm to 6.15pm in the east coast.

Interesting that the Anzac Day NRL clash was split coded meaning the figures for Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth were not shown.

Huge audience for AFL and Seven News Melbourne (to be expected). They’d be thrilled.

Huge numbers for the AFL. Not so much for the NRL.

Farmer was the reality winner last night. Lego and Im a Celebrity were close with each otber.

AFL pre match and pre game segments both made the top 20. Is the pre match segment when the players run of the field? And the pre game segment being the preview?

Five of the top 6 Programs were News with massive numbers.

I still don’t understand why all those people dont just stream the news on their phones

IDK about you, but when I’m looking at news on my phone, it is never a broadcast bulletin. It’s usually through an app or news website. 30min-1hr news isn’t really designed for streaming to a device.

Why the low ratings in Sydney for the Anzac Day NRL game? It was a close game too…

This show has really dropped off. Just a late timeslot filler now, I suppose.

Yeah its a terrible result.

Wonder what else Seven could show at 9pm instead that would rate higher?

Accused aired at 9pm and rated far better.

Awful from its heyday.

Its catch up numbers are pretty significant however.

Signicant and still got beaten by SBS World News?

Anyone interested in a Foxtel breakdown, Jane Holmes (who does the daily TV segment at the very end of the Neil Mitchell program on 3AW radio and no doubt gets the full ratings spreadsheets from Nine - podcast is uploaded and she’s also an Essendon fan :sob:) revealed the Melbourne audience alone for the AFL ANZAC clach and it’s huge: without breaking MS-OzTAM rules, it’s the same figure as the No. 4 ranked Foxtel program but replace the first digit with a 1.

Including Seven regional and Foxtel regional, there must’ve been well over 700,000 Victorians alone watching the whole game on a weekday day time.

Amazing stuff, especially for FTA and 2023 and a YoY increase. Live major sport the saviour?
