Seven wins its third night of the week while prime time World Cup coverage propels SBS into third spot on Tuesday.

Seven News gave its network a huge 200k head start at 6pm easily winning all markets after The Chase was 150k ahead at 5.30pm. However, the momentum was stalled as A Current Affair won at 7pm while Home and Away had its lowest Tuesday audience of the year.

However, Seven was back ahead at 7.30 with a one off Paul Hogan roast managing just over half a million for an easy win. My Mum Your Day from Nine didn’t offer much competition with a season low outside the top 10 while 10 The Challenge sank to a season low, down 60k from last week and 30k from Monday.

SBS’s World Cup coverage did well to make the top 20 for the upset result with Sydney providing the biggest audience where the program was the number one outside of news and current affairs. It was less competitive in the other markets.

Viewing patterns were disrupted by the soccer with ABC and 10 impacted the most. ABC was down 3 while 10 was down +6 after Cheap Seats finished last week. It was 10’s lowest Tuesday share of the year with The Project 7pm again the network’s best performer. For ABC, Stuff The British Stole slipped to a season low last night.

Meanwhile ODI cricket easily topped Foxtel’s night with almost 200k watching. Victoria’s People’s forum had 65,000.

Good figures for the FIFA World Cup match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia beating travel guides in the 8:30pm timeslot.

Low ratings for The Challenge is dragging down 10’s schedule on Monday and Tuesday nights.

Great figures for the Paul Hogan Roast and it was great TV.

Sky should be a little concerned about the figures for Paul Murray dropping to 38,000 because it was consistently around the 80,000 mark last year. The 8pm start clearly hasn’t worked and the program is more suited its old 9pm late night timeslot.

From Nine:

  • My Mum Your Dad wins the timeslot with GS + Child across all markets
  • Love Island Australia has recorded a VOD BVOD Audience of 122,000 (+151% YoY)
  • Love Island Australia is the #1 program streamed yesterday against all broadcasters on catch-up
  • 9News wins the timeslot in Sydney with People 16-39 and GS + Child
  • ACA wins 7pm timeslot across 5 City and East Coast and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with Total People
  • Today wins breakfast slot across the East Coast and in Sydney and Brisbane with Total People
  • 9Network wins Tuesday with People 25-54 and GS + Child
  • Channel 9 wins Tuesday with People GS + Child

Seven won Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. Nine won Sydney and it was a tie in Melbourne. For the second night in a row SBS was second in Perth. Nine won 25-54 and SBS won 16-39.

10 News Sydney’s ratings have been on a downward slide recently.

Pretty good numbers for SBS’ 9.30pm game last night, giving SBS it’s biggest share of the year so far. Will no doubt be bigger on Saturday night when Australia’s playing in that 9.30pm slot too.

Yesterday’s 6am game came in at 46th place, huge for SBS, but not much impact for the breakky shows. But todays ratings will tell a different story (published tomorrow), since Australia played France in that slot.

Good ratings for the early kickoff game especially the shock result

7 News consistently winning all markets, change of hosts at ACA… 7 should be striking now and launching a new current affairs show at 7pm. Missing an opportunity. Give an earlier version of The Latest a trial over summer at least!

Ten, now number five. I’m glad The Challenge has bombed, nowhere to be seen anywhere, should stay on MTV or axe it altogether, not worthy of FTA.

Seven’s BBL commitments means they would only be able to do that for a handful of nights.

And that’s still ok.
