Tuesday delivered another close result for the top two places with Nine ahead by 0.5 in network shares while Seven had the top main channel. 9Gem was again the top multi ranking ahead of SBS’s main channel.
Both Nine and Seven were up on the previous Tuesday with ABC and 10 down one while SBS dropped two to its lowest Tuesday since before the World Cup.
The second week of the BBL continues to do better than the first with its highest weekday result so far of the season. That was after Seven News did well to be over 800,000 and win all markets except Brisbane.
Nine’s Travel Guides repeat was second at 7.30 with Bad Mums 2 making the top 20. Earlier, Nine News had its smallest Tuesday audience of the year with Sydney and Melbourne in particular underperforming.
In the afternoon Nine Afternoon News was ahead of Seven News and 10 News bulletins while at breakfast Sunrise put in another dominant performance.
The top 20 entries for ABC and 10 were all slightly lower than the previous week with Ambulance Australia missing the top 20 this week.
Despite missing the top 20 multis Love Island’s final topped two of the key demos.

The BBL was once again the most watched non-news program in Adelaide as the Adelaide Strikers chalked up another win. If the team continues their current form, then ratings should increase further.

Strength of the Sunrise summer team very obvious.

Nine won the three east coast markets with Seven winning in Adelaide and Perth. Nine won the key demos - while only 6 points separated the three commercials in 16-39, Nine was a +7-pont winner in 25-54.
Outside the top 20 included.

Last Tuesday, Network 10 were rating over 16%.
This wek on the back of lamentable publicity, they fall further back to 14.9%
Ouch!

How do you know that it’s because of the publicity that they’re rating lower?

because i am still seeing so many comments on social media and on talkback that people will never watch Ten again. Even Sandra Sully got involved today.
Lets see if the figures drop even further.

That is a ridiculous comment because the future of the Ten Network is the biggest story in TV right now
I’m not exactly sure what you think I’m outraged about, I find the industry fascinating.

The Paramount ANZ thread was closed for a reason
scott
December 21, 2022, 6:59am

The reason it was closed was because too many people wanted to give their emotional opinons on Australia Day which missed the point entirely.
When you have a situation where a network has recorded their worst yearly figures ever and there is so much unrest at the station including redundancies, many people will be naturally examining their ratings performance daily.
Ten’s big problem … Go Woke Go Broke. Much of the network has become so woke and lefty … even more so than ABC. Hence Ten’s ratings are often lower than ABC. The network has increasingly little connection or relevance to many fta viewers. The Project is a case in point especially here in Sydney … overhyped self-indulgent fare. And the network is led locally by a woke lefty it would appear. All imho.

Go Woke Go Broke
There’s always Sky/Fox News available if you think a mainstream network like 10 is too ‘woke’ or ‘lefty’.
Seriously this rhetoric is becoming a broken record.

People’s individual political opinions are irrelevant because this is not the forum for that
The discussion is around the impact of Channel Ten becoming so woke and how that is turning away the mainstream audience in droves

Now that’s irony … Ten is hardly mainstream these days. Almost a narrow-caster given its sliding ratings. And that’s the real issue here … Why is it in such a parlous condition? The un-Australian network???
The final of Love Island just made the top 30 in Total TV with an audience lift much lower than most of the regular episodes. The overnight metro rating on 9Go! was 45,000.
