Looks like someone at 10 hit the panic button. Deal or No Deal has been brought forward a week earlier.
Will be even more interesting to see how it finishes off its first week tonight.
Nine won the east coast markets including another +40% share for Melbourne. Seven countered with a +40% share in Perth (7Mate was the number 2 channel) and a win in Adelaide.

Sunrise made the top 20, 25k ahead of Today while News Breakfast has a year high, just 20k lower. Another poor Melbourne number for Sunrise and very low for Today in Perth.

What does Seven do with Melbourne? Any suggestions?
Or do we just wait till the AFL starts in March and hope numbers improve?
I noted that Today did not broadcast from AO. Perhaps they have learned that OBs don’t rate and their Melbourne numbers were so good it was best to not to interfere with a good run of numbers.
OBs only work on Fridays or weekend.
There’s nothing remotely Melburnian/Victorian about the show. Swap in a photo of a building in Melbourne in the set, get Bec Madden on there more, get footy commentary people to fill in for Beretta. The way Sunrise talks about Melbourne is like it’s a foreign country. People are watching at 6pm and it’s the natural channel of the town thanks to the footy rights…
Hahahaha oh Channel 10 what another preventable mess. Fucking around with the premier dates (Not that would have helped) and bombarding us with stupid juvenile promos about shit like a 300 pack of Abs. You can’t polish a turd 10, when will you learn?
Jumping the gun with Deal won’t matter either. It’s DOA. Shit slot on a crumbling channel and a tired concept.
@TV.Cynic Thanks for the Neighbours ratings you always provide. Much appreciated.
Loosing David Koch last year has had big effect on Melbourne.

As mentioned. The Gladiators skewed very young and claimed the rankings to outrate the BBL in key demos.
Hard to say. They’ve improved in Brisbane, now regularly winning, but there’s no apparent strategy… bar a few electronic billboards when Shirvo started.
But like I’ve said before, history says when Melbourne goes up, Brisbane goes down, and vice versa. Weird.
A bit strange there’s no media reporting any of this in recent days, usually Daily Telegraph and Daily Mail, etc are all over it. Then news .com.au, Yahoo, etc
edit
I suppose that says a lot… They don’t even realise it’s on
I’d be careful thinking that way. Seven will probably have Hamish McLachlan come back and fill-in for Shirvington
Their clickbaiters and trolls must still be on holidays.
I think they’ve definitely noticed the downwards trend in Melb. We should see something in the next day or two I believe which looks to address it.
Not a good look for its heritage station HSV and VFL/AFL rights holder since day dot, also previous long-time holder of other Melbourne stapes like the Aus Open, Melb Cup and Olympics where sport was the market’s bread and butter. Not to mention one of the two major/biggest markets.
Nine/Today would be rapt with the back-end of last year and their start to this year in Melbs with Today, 9News Alicia and Tom and the Aussie Open
How so? What was Kochie’s connection to Melbourne? Didn’t he live in Sydney and was from Adelaide?
Well, he was the anchor for two decades
He seemed to be able to better connect with Melbourne audiences.
Being the Port Adelaide President and the connection to the AFL certainly helped. He was interviewed constantly on Melbourne radio, along with being a guest on numerous AFL programmes over the years.
