The tennis delivered again for Nine with a big 940k for the night session and +800k for night 2. That gave Nine a 4-point win that saw the network up six from last week. Seven and ABC dropped two, 10 was steady while SBS underperformed.

The BBL slipped to a low 500k but Seven was buoyed by a +330k win at 6pm and +800k for Home and Away.

Dr Karl dropped from its premier of the previous week but still did well with 622k while Eat The Invaders had 467k.

10’s movie was one of the more popular on 252k. That followed 10 News and The Project that were above average with Deal or No Deal on 230k.

Today improved but was still well behind Sunrise. The Chase continued to achieve big numbers as the only 5pm game show.

A near 200k win for Seven News. Above average numbers for 10 continue - that Sydney number is the biggest I have recorded in over 12 months.

Poor result for Sunrise in Melbourne.

Those seem to be some pretty healthy figures for 10’s Late News last night, albeit airing in a slightly earlier slot at 10:07pm following the movie.

I think a hard start at 10pm each weeknight would be great for the service. 10 News at 10. It’s better than the randomized times

9:55 tonight but at least, for the moment, they are showing it in an earlier time after the ‘main event’ of the night and not trying to sandwich another hour of procedural repeats etc in before the news.

After the healthier (albeit total audiences) it’d been generating recently, this seems a bad result, given it also includes 7Plus, back to 12-24 months ago levels. Especially Sydney and Melbourne, which seems to be a concerning theme in general with Seven. Aus Open impact?

Shows how much regional helps Seven, wouldn’t even be surprised to see regional not far off metro sometimes and in the past has got very close to outranking if not outranking metro for certain programs.

Seven will be pleased with those news results though. Perhaps Nine haven’t struck a bit of AO match magic after 5:30pm yet this tournament.

Perhaps move the procedurals to 10:30pm keeping the project rpt at 11:30pm.

I’d just drop them altogether. The project repeat and the Late Show at a semi-decent time has more appeal.

How did the overall ratings for news and morning shows go over the summer period compared to previous years?

But they offer nothing for catch up and streaming and ultimately will hurt 10s shares, particularly in the demos. The project repeat used to do well leading at 11:30pm (no idea how it performs these days).
