Will Australian networks send anyone to Alaska?

Russian Special Flight Squadron plane from Moscow to Anchorage

Report:

Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to undertake a rare and complex journey to Alaska on August 15 to meet U.S. President Donald Trump, marking a significant moment in strained U.S.-Russia relations. Due to extensive airspace bans imposed by NATO and allied countries following Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine, Putin’s flight path has been forced to circumvent much of the Western hemisphere, utilizing a narrow corridor over the Bering Strait between Russia and Alaska. The U.S. government has granted a rare and carefully negotiated airspace permit allowing the Russian leader to cross into American skies, highlighting the delicate balance of diplomacy amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Does anyone know what time the summit is Aussie time? Imagine we’ll get some rolling coverage. Keen to tune in.

Sunrise had 4 ‘experts’ Hugh Whitfeld as foreign editor, Simon Jack son in the studio plus Rob Scott in Alaska then Malcom Davis was brought in. Wonder where Keith Suter was.

John Lyons on ABC was probably the most realistic (and pessimistic).

Are they… USING the vertical screen?!?!

Sound the alarms!

CNN International has broken away from the coverage for the all-important African Voices and Quest’s World of Wonder! I love Quest but have to question the logic of not sticking with the domestic channel… which is doing live coverage.

Probably had those programs paid for and needed to be broadcast.
