The same songs always make it onto their Countdowns

I couldn’t be more bored with that Top 10. The only remotely interesting song is the Eurythmics one.

Is Down Under a ā€œrockā€ song?

Do you know where the full list is? All I can find online is one from a couple of years ago.

I think this is the 2024 list

I would call it a celebration of overplayed songs, most mediocre.

Not one song in the GOAT 600 from the following artists. I think these artists had songs more deserving than some songs that appeared in the GOAT 600!

The Church
Richard Clapton
Eric Clapton
Joe Cocker
Alice Cooper
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Deep Purple
Bob Dylan
The Kinks
Little River Band
Meat Loaf
Russell Morris
The Motels
Roxy Music
Bob Seger
Skyhooks
Status Quo
Steppenwolf
Rod Stewart
Sweet
T-Rex
Thin Lizzy

It’s ā€œGreatest Hitsā€ā€™ now anyway.

That list is disappointing, there are a few gems that should had been higher but its mostly the same rubbish they play over and over.

Agree, as usual, the more interesting songs are near the bottom of the countdown.

A few i didn’t expect, like The Bee Gees and Roxette.

It will air at 12-1pm weekdays across the network, starting from Monday 29th July through to Friday 9th August.

This is IMO a very smart move my SCA.

Matt & Alex need to transition over to Triple M - and hopefully the station can skew slightly younger to attract some of the ex-triple j male listeners.

Combined with putting Mike E & Emma on a younger sounding 2DayFM, I think this could be a good thing if SCA executed it right.

Don’t leave strong talent in the curtains.

Same goes with Hamish & Andy. Why SCA has the countries top podcasters only on LiSTNR and not shared onto the struggling Hit Network is well beyond me.

Bring out the big guns if you’ve got them!

Marty made a joke on the latest 3pm show to download the podcast as it’s real data ā€œand might save himā€ I get it’s a joke but I hope this current arrangement is just temporary and have plans to use him better next year and not just get rid of that great team.

Dave Hughes on Triple M Melbourne breakfast starting October? The timing lines up with his 2DayFM breakfast show ending immediately which gives him a couple of months off before starting the new gig. Otherwise, wouldn’t Hughesy, Ed and Erin have continued until October/November instead of finishing this early?

Agreed, wonder if it’ll be Hughesy and Kate or Hughesy and Ed/plus Wil Anderson

Once the decision was officially finalised that Hughesy Ed and Erin would not be back in 2025, management would not have wanted to spend one more cent in producing/marketing it. Similar story with Sheargold.

SCA will save it’s pennys for remainder of the year and launch big in 2025.
