Yes, I’m male. And that’s the point I was making - 6MMM plays way more than just rock music.
I feel like the music on Triple M metros skews too old. Most of the playlist seems to be stuff from the 80s from Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Cold Chisel and Midnight Oil, and it’s safe stuff too.
I agree with other people saying that rock becoming less popular in the mainstream has made things a bit difficult. However, I wish they would play more 90s and 2000s stuff that is not the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I would like to hear some of the music they play on stations like Triple M 2000s and Triple M Tradie on DAB+ make its way to the main station, because they play some good stuff on those stations that fits the rock format. Even though it isn’t brand new stuff, I feel like it could freshen things up a bit.
Their playlist was awesome when they used to play “90s & New Stuff” at night with Ugly Phil (followed by The Spoonman).
It ended on Friday 8 September?
Did Triple M classic rock delay it?
Despite digital radio, used to listen via Rebel.
Great news, Jason Morrison filling in next week whilst Luke Bona is forced by management to take some leave.
What did he do?
Luke is one of those people who work hard and don’t like to take leave. We all have to take the leave we are entitled to.
Yes, when I was in the Federal public service, we had to take a minimum of 2 weeks per year, and couldn’t carry more than 10 weeks accrued annual leave. You were forced to get it down to 10 weeks as at 1 October each year. I used to get letters telling me I had too much leave!
Wow. Back on radio and straight to mid-dawns.
Hopefully it’s just to shake off the cobwebs and he’ll be doing better fill-ins over the next few months.
They need to give him brekkie fill-in or something.
Leave? What’s that? If I go on leave I have to get someone to work for me so I can keep earning an income.
Wait… I literally just realised I’m reading the Triple M thread. I thought this was the Nine (Talk Radio) thread.
Jason’s going to Triple M!?! Why not 2GB!?!
Sounds like a personal problem
Nah, I’m self employed.
Has anybody had a chance to listen to Jason Morrison on Triple M overnights?
Any feedback? Has his style changed much since the 2GB/2UE days?
I heard him the other morning and I though he sounded great. I never heard him on 2GB but sounded free flowing and engaging.
Who did he replace?
