The Greek list is big and includes many countries that wouldn’t be on the Australian list at this stage. It will be a long time before our government agrees to such a broad reopening of borders.

Well let’s leave those two to figure out how to work things out. It’s certainly a sign of things to come.
Though I have a serious question: Who would actually want to go to America at this point in time? Coronavirus is still crippling the country and now the protests that their president is doing diddly squat about. That country is stuffed.

Well it was China’s fault for blocking American airlines like Delta and United from resuming flights to China by introducing more red tapes, so the US Government is responding in kind.
This is just grandstanding considering the restrictions the Chinese government was placing on its own airlines for international passenger flights. It’s not going to impact the vast majority of air traffic (freight) as it is now, not to mention the US is probably going to be off the tourism radar for 12-18 months at this point.

I’ve been looking online and apparently Delta and United (by some degree) has been granted permission to fly to China in the coming months.
No doubt any of that will most likely be thrown out of the window by this move.

I think that is more realistic. I think Australia needs to open up first before a push for overseas travel.

I am not sure if Mark McGowan is due to hold a press conference today but I would suggest a similar announcement soon for WA.
Surprised how frantic some politicians and people in the media seem to be to escape from NSW in particular for Queensland. Don’t know what we did to suddenly deserve their adoration or even attention.

Coastal Queensland during Winter = daytime maximum temperatures typically around the low-mid twenties.
Coastal NSW during Winter (yes even in Sydney, Newcastle and to a lesser extent, further North) = daytime maximum temperatures typically around the mid-high teens.
I’m still happy to wait until the pandemic dies down further before even contemplating the idea of recreational travel within my own state, let alone others.

Going for daytrips or short stays where the crowds aint is the go. @Radiohead had the right idea by targeting far west NSW and VIC. I certainly wouldn’t be going to somewhere like Byron Bay, or going on a domestic aircraft.

Exactly, it’s mostly why I went way out west in my car and not north/south… and that the long weekend fell during my trip.
As for Northern VIC, I wanted to make it a trip whereby I wasn’t going back the same way I came, and I felt safer being able to social distance effectively in an inland country area away from the usual coastal/snow tourist hotspots or in Melbourne, where most of the active VIC cases would be (or Sydney for NSW).
It’s definitely not a trip that I would have normally done, but a great opportunity to do something different.
