Still amazes me how Sydney Airport has a 11pm curfew. My flight departed yesterday with five minutes to spare, originally with a 9:30pm departure. Otherwise I would’ve stayed in a Sydney hotel for the evening, exactly what happened about a month and a bit ago.

Not great that the airlines are fighting the plans to stop surcharges on credit cards in Australia.

They’ll just jack their prices up and advertise them as ‘no surcharges, no more to pay’ or some other tag line.

The resumption of HK-Gold Coast flight was celebrated at both airports.

Who can forget the 2010s when airlines slugged us all the credit card fee ‘per passenger per sector’. It got to something stupid like $8.

They should have been all fined for that scam and shame on the government for letting it go for as long as it did. They should have enforced refunds backdated.

Just nationalise it.

The only way you can profitably serve these areas is exploiting a captive market, charging absurd figures to fly short distances, knowing that people have no choice other than 1000km drives to major services.

Jetstar are currently doing their return free to Japan and South Korea. I went to South Korea last year and I am very tempted to go back. $440 return is such a good deal. I just want to go back to Myeongdong Kyoja

First Shitstar, and now Qantas is set for a uniform update after 12 years with the Martin Grant design.

The new uniform is set to debut in 2027.

Somehow this reminds me…

On 9News last night, there was a report on the return of supersonic air travel, which could recommence as early as 2028, and mean SYD to LAX in 8.5 hours (nearly half the current travel time of 14 hours).

Won’t come cheap, I’d imagine.

As reported in Herald Sun, Delta Airlines announced overnight that it would launch direct flights between Los Angeles and Melbourne from this December. It will operate three flights per week.

Qantas biggest sale in 12 months

If there was ever a reason to book that holiday now would be it with Qantas discounting 400,000 international seats – marking its biggest sale in 12 months.

The Aussie carrier will have more than 50 routes on sale across 30 destinations from Asia, the Americas, the United Kingdom and Pacific.

The global sale is on now until February 10, unless sold out prior and is for travel between February 5, 2025 to January 15, 2026.
