USA as a whole post pandemic is crazy expensive. I was having a look at pricing recently, seems most is double to triple what pricing was in the 2010s. Vegas is now one of more expensive places to visit, was previously the least expensive, now on par with NYC.
I remember when Virgin Australia had Embraer E-90 jets in their fleet;I travelled on them a couple of times.
I think Qantas/Alliance has them now, I liked these planes because they only have 2 seats on each side of the aisle so you either get an aisle or window seat
Embraer E-series is actually one of my favourite planes.
Entire plane shocked by X-rated Qantas error
Passengers on a recent Qantas flight from Australia to Japan were left gobsmacked after an inappropriate movie was played on every screen due to a technical issue.
One shocked passenger said there was “no way to turn it off” and was floored by the racy nudity and obscene ‘sexts’ that were displayed on each seat’s screen.
As a result, Qantas said staff asked passengers what movie they would like to watch, resulting in the movie Daddio (2023) being played to everyone on the flight.
The R-rated movie?
My American Airlines flight from SFO to LAX was a bit different to what I expected, only a small 76 seat Embraer 175 plane, was expecting an Airbus of some sort.
Also made me think that the US West Coast would be a good candidate for high speed rail, but this doesn’t exist anywhere in the US yet. A bit surprising.
There’s the brightline between Miami and Orlando in Florida. Very much a newish service that started between Miami and Fort Lauderdale. It will continue to expand in Florida.
There’s talk of a new brightline in the west coast. Construction started on a line between Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
Emirates has resumed flights to Iraq, while services to Iran and Lebanon remain suspended.
As reported by France24, Emirates initially suspended all flights to Iran, Iraq, and Jordan on October 4 and 5 due to “regional unrest.” Flights to Lebanon had also been halted until October 8 as airlines continued to monitor the situation in the region.
In its latest update, Emirates said that flights to Tehran, Iran’s capital, will remain suspended until October 15. As such, passengers transiting through Dubai International Airport with Tehran as their final destination will not be allowed to travel from their points of origin. Similarly, flights to Beirut, Lebanon, will remain suspended until October 15 under and transiting passengers will not be accepted for travel.

Emirates Airlines has banned passengers from carrying pagers and walkie-talkies on its flights, following last month’s attacks on Lebanese group Hezbollah involving communication devices that exploded.
“All passengers traveling to, from, or via Dubai are prohibited from transporting pagers and walkie-talkies in checked or cabin baggage,” the airline said in a statement on its website on Friday. It added that any prohibited items found will be confiscated by Dubai Police as part of heightened security measures.
Czech Airlines will stop flying on October 26 after the final flight from Paris to Prague, and leave the SkyTeam alliance on the same day.
The airline’s final flight will be absorbed into its parent company, Smartwings, which purchased a majority stake in 2017. Smartwings confirmed that CSA’s routes, including its two primary ones between Prague and Paris and Madrid, will continue under Smartwings’ flight code ‘QS’, Air Data News reported.
Smartwings will manage future bookings previously made with Czech Airlines and the brand will still appear on some aircraft for a limited period. However, from October 27, the ‘OK’ flight code will disappear from all airline tickets, replaced by ‘QS’ on boarding passes.
I got back into Australia on Wednesday morning (after nearly 4 weeks in Britain, France and USA).
But only today, I’ve finally feel like I’ve recovered from jet lag, which I don’t normally get. Normally a good night’s sleep is all I need, but Thurs and Fri in particular I felt fatigued, had a headache and just felt a bit off, similar to what I had with the COVID vaccine side effects.
Might be an age thing too, probably harder to cope as you get older.
Yeah I have decided to take hydralytes with my on the plane this trip to help tackle the jet lag. I think the biggest issue I have is with dehydration. So I’m hoping this helps this time.
last time i went to london i was there for 8 days and probally spent that long fighting jet lag when i got back
Wow, that’s a long time.
I’ll be staying at the Rendezvous Hotel in Melbourne next January,I’ve been looking at the area on Google Maps,it looks like I might be able to walk to Melbourne Park from there for the Oz Open .If I’m too lazy to walk I might hop on a tram instead.
Maybe my next tennis experience will be either Wimbledon or the US Open ,if I’m up to travelling that far by plane .
Not the French Open as I can’t speak French🙁
