Australia out at 10.02pm on Channel 7. How long of a delay is that?
What I’ve done is move to the live stream when the teams came out to avoid the length of the parade of nations…
Do we know why Australia only had 2 athletes when other countries had heaps especially China?

It was just the flag bearers. Maybe COVID concerns. New Zealand are not appearing at the ceremony - just a flag bearer as well
Still watching and surprisingly the seven feed is far better than what happened during the Olympics with Hamish on air. Why they even bother putting him on is beyond me. Maybe that’s why they brought Matt White in for hosting duties in the afternoons!?!? The comparison between these two broadcasters is chalk and cheese.
The live feed on 7+ still includes the 7 commentators as opposed to world feed.
I don’t have a problem with the two options - live on app and delayed on main channel.
7 initially had planned to show the opening ceremony on 7mate. Having it on the main channel - even on a slight delay - will give it a massive audience. (Feel free to prove me wrong with the morning numbers.)
I don’t understand why people - especially on a media forum like this - get so angry at a network playing ads to pay the bills.

Im really interested to see how the games rate. I hope australia gets behind this and we see some record breaking ratings for it.
We all need a bit of inspiration and to get behind some amazingly talented people in this world.
I really have to say it was a great opening ceremony. Really a stark contrast to what the Olympic one was.
I heard them say 160+ people in the performance who had an impairment. I think that’s the biggest display of inclusiveness within the opening in quite some time if ever.
Congrats to the production team. Bring the games on!
