The BBC had full rights to these Olympics (the Discovery/Eurosport deal only covered the 2022 & 2024 Olympics in the UK) but decided to sub-licence them in order to secure a package of rights for the aforementioned Olympics from Discovery
Still a lot of Day 1 events yet to be uploaded, No full version of the Men Cycling Road Race but there is a condensed 20 minute version.

I nearly forgot about the live sites. Due to lockdowns in three states, the AOC can only set up live sites in QLD, TAS, NT and WA.

Only thing I really gripe with 7’s coverage is 2 channels. I get there both in HD but I believe they can cover more across 3 channels.

Oh. Coz Google says it’s a Japanese male baby name. 
No surprises here. Streaming is taking over the tradtional way of viewing TV via either an antenna or cable/satellite box.

The article says they saw a surge for vieweship on their app, a 72% increases over Rio in 2016.

This might explain the general lack of archived content from Day 1 as the 7+ FAQ seems to indicate they are aiming to highlight much of the events with Australian representation and probably why more of the niche events haven’t been uploaded for on-demand viewing. They really should have done another dedicated app again akin to Rio even if that was flawed it would have offered a much better way to watch events on-demand than 7+ seemingly will.
It’s hard to get a full picture about NBC’s Opening Ceremony numbers because the full details (including how many watched the live airing) won’t be available until sometime on Tuesday morning Australian time

I can’t deal with Leisel Jones and Ian Thorpe on special analyst role. Basil really carrying the coverage. Those two are like half asleep and not really giving insight. Really missing the experience of Giaan or Nicole Livingston.
Nicole Livingstone is doing commentary on the 7+ feed.

But the play by play guys is annoying on that. He’s half dead.
I don’t mind him and I am sure he is worlds better than whatever Basil is spouting on the main 7 feed.
Agree. I’ve never thought Thorpe was much good in these roles. Baz is great calling swimming as always.
