Alright. Here’s my thoughts about the refresh of the Today Show.
• GFX looks clean and bright compared to the old one.
• Backdrop looks amazing and I think it’s focusing on the sunrise backdrop.
• Loved the 6am your news camera movements.
• They should have Pink’s ‘Today’s the day’ theme music. But start it with their current theme.
• Finally we have a voiceover.
I don’t think it has, based on similar angles under the last graphics:
The change to white lighting might be the reason why it kind of looks like it has.
Because they really need to use a decade-old song written specifically for, and forever tarnished by its association with, The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Seems to stay up long enough to read? How long do you want it to stay up?
Yeah there’s enough time to read it but IMO it looks really weird that it just animates in at the end with nothing else. There’s a spot for it, so it should just stay there the whole time. It looks way better IMO.
Graphics reminds me of The Morning Show on Channel Seven
Big fan of the new voice over on the intro. Also like the breaking news. It’s the set that’s letting the whole look down now.
I can’t really fault it. I think it looks really fresh and probably the best look they have had in quite some time.
Agree the set is letting it down. Namely the red on the News set as it doesn’t fit in at all.
It comes up as soon as they read the date? I’m unclear of when you think it should come up?
I think they are saying it should be there for the whole intro sequence. It is interesting, because the 9 News version has the date for the first headline, then it is removed for the rest.
One thing that I like is that for breaking news the supers mimic 9news which is good IMO
The new microphone covers make me think that instantly, despite the different colour shade

God the set is falling apart. Could they not have replaced the chipped and warped floor?
They need to replace the fixed red element in the set as well. Looks absolutely terrible, clashes dreadfully. Would be easy to replace with a blue or a metallic if they want to be cheap about it.
This is probably the second best of their on air graphics. It’s sophisticated and clean.
But my favourite graphics of them were 2015 era.
This is a great refresh - the lighter colour palette is nice.
The supers are “fine” except the same issue with the second line being so disconnected from the title.
Nice to see a tighter link to the Nine News brand though.
The set desperately needs some TLC. Would love to see them make changes to the WWOS set to make it work for Today.
