Why can everyone else see this, but not 9??
It’s been said so consistently, he was the newsreader on the program during its most dire period. He is not a ratings winner.

It doesn’t really, as if you look back over the last 25 years of Mitch on 7 at 6pm, he’s only won a handful of years. Pretty sure with Alicia solo lately she is still romping it in.
Melbourne news is neck and neck. Sure 9 has been slightly in front a lot of the time. But it’s not a dire gap. It’s really tight in real terms.

On Nova’s Ricki-Lee and Tim breakfast show they asked anyone who was listening and was nominated for a Logie Award to call and spruik themselves or their show.
So Sarah Abo called in from “deep in maternity leave” and said she has “switched off from Today” 
and is now listening to Ricki-Lee and Tim because they are now “the number one radio show”.

So Sarah came on Today this morning to say hello. No announcement so do we assume she is coming back?
I think Sam would be happy to be a replacement short term rather than long term.

This week’s hosting combo delivered an average of 13,000 more viewers than the previous week for Today’s highest average rating in seven weeks. The result of 286,000 compared to Sunries’s 467,000 that was down 10,000 from last week but still one of the show’s highest results of recent times. News Breakfast had 234,000, its best result in 11 weeks.
This week last year the numbers were
Sunrise 392,000 (19%)
Today 307,000 (-7%)
News B 244,000 (-4%)

The consistency of the weekend team is slowly paying off. Saturday’s ratings were as high as any day during the week and the weekend show’s best since May.
The probably still have some way to go to have the same chemistry as Weekend Sunrise but there does seem to be the beginnings of a good partnership.
The show took a brief look at The Logies for which the weekday show is nominated (as well as Karl and Sarah) by talking to Todd Woodbridge who has a Gold nomination.
