They had Santa on today and Rebecca was all playing along for the kids and being perky and Richard was just sitting there looking like “what is my life? What is this shit?” he then asked Santa for a car and Santa said “a car is not a toy” and he goes “well im just telling you what I want.” Santa should have said “what about a new pair of underpants?” #DM

I still highly dislike the current hosts of Weekend Today.
I think Charles Croucher makes a good newsreader though. Other members will probably disagree but I feel like Jonathan Uptin and Jayne Azzopardi plus Charles Croucher as newsreader would make a good panel?
I think David Campbell and Belinda Russell are best suited though. Just a thought considering there is quite a bit of talent floating around Channel 9 now.

I’d leave David and Sylvia on Today Extra and have Charles and Belinda on Weekend Today.

Surely Nine could find someone other than Dicky. There’s options outside the immediate Nine News stable, plus a few more inside. Tim Blackwell is a regular guest, he could do it. Need some fresh ideas.

I actually think the ladies should be the other way around as you had put them, as IMO Belinda is best on a show like Today Extra where she can show some personality, and Sylvia has more journalistic/news experience than Belinda does, that would be good for Weekend Today.
Also worth remembering too that Sylvia only wants to work part-time for the time being.
Ideally I’d have David and Sylvia on Weekend Today, and Today Extra would be David (Mon-Wed)/Richard (Thu-Fri) and Belinda. Belinda would then have to be replaced on Sydney’s Friday & Saturday weather.

If anyone has video of Kerrie Yaxley’s first report around 5.35am, it is absolutely hilarious.
Work crews were drilling throughout and Karl had a crack at the PMs curry-eating which set Yaxley off.

Must be a Melbourne reporter thing. Watched a bit of Today this week, and the Melbourne reporter has as much arrogance as every other Melbourne reporter that has come to light (across all networks) of late. Not seen with crosses to Sydney or Brisbane.
I think you’ll find most tv reports have a degree of arrogance about them. It comes with the job.
I just haven’t seen it as much since moving to Melbourne. Maybe I’ve been sheltered in the Perth news bubble.
Don’t get me wrong, a lot are good people, but a good TV reporter needs a certain level of arrogance to do their job. It comes with the trade. You need to be confident.
