Brisbane radio host and TV personality Dan Anstey is rumoured to be swapping the Triple M studio for the Today show desk this summer.
Scoop sources have revealed Anstey, known for co-hosting Triple M Brisbane’s breakfast show with Greg ‘Marto’ Martin and Margaux Parker, is lined up to fill in for Karl Stefanovic during his holiday break.
No stranger to the screen, Anstey already doubles as a weather presenter on Weekend Today, making him a familiar face for morning TV fans.
In another potential shake-up, Scoop hears whispers that former Sunrise host Sam Armytage could step in for Sarah Abo over the summer. The speculation comes just months after Armytage’s high-profile departure from the Seven Network after a 21-year tenure.

He’s passable on the weather but not really the right type of voice for a hosting role.

Sorry, Shirvo has a voice that sounds like a television presenter. Dan doesn’t. But he’ll be as good as the covid doctor was last year I guess.

They weirdly do this every summer - and every summer we all say ‘I wonder whether they will introduce one permanently’ and they don’t.

Going to be weird seeing this but I somewhat think it will firm up the ratings for Today over non peak which generally slide.
While I undertake she has zero interest in any permanent morning roles, would be good to see her cover the holiday periods like this. She will want a permanent role no doubt on the 9 payroll so would likely need to find some continuity in work available.

Yeah. And during the weekday edition during Summer
Pretty sure Dickie, Renee or the newsreader did entertainment on weekdays last summer.
I remember Dickie was there the week Dr. Nick Coatsworth hosted, because I remember thinking that Dickie would’ve been a better host.
