Perth correspondent Michael Genovese has been promoted to Nine News US correspondent. His boss Michael Best wrote in an email to staff that Genovese’s role on Today would now be rotated between reporters in the newsroom.

A really flat program this morning. Lots of rubbish content. All four presenters separated. No chemistry. It’s just not working.

It’s a shame as Today and Today Extra has finally been gaining momentum throughout the year but Weekend Today falls flat.

I would say Rebecca will be flying up to Sydney soon when the border opens up. The show might feel different with both presenters being together.
