I mean that is a whole ridiculous situation in itself. But if David and Sylvia were working yesterday and are hosting Today the rest of the week, why not get them to do Monday as well?
Consistency and familiarity is what morning audiences like.
Maybe they didnât want to get up at 2.30am on a Public Holiday?

It was a long weekend and the weekend team hosted the show. Makes sense to me.

Yeah. There is probably some sort of roster agreement. The Today Weekend team does Public Holidays, Today Extra team does holiday leave.

In the last month they have had Charles, David and Michael fill in for Karl and Sunrise has had David fill in for Matt, correct? Do you see my point?
I think this would be deliberate. Reports are Karl is looking to move on next year so they are probably testing out replacement options. Shirvo isnât leaving (as far as we know) so Sunrise donât need to test out new options.
Well, maybe they have certain arrangements to keep their staff happy and staying with network?
With Seven, Davifld and Mon might have aspirations to lead Sunrise weekdays and itâs in their contract to fill in whenever possible.
Same with David and Sylvia but maybe the Weekend Today team also want it so the acting duties must be shared.
Itâs the same with Sarah. Three different filli ins in the last three days. They have had 20 years to find a successor for Karl and still have no clue.
I appreciate that you are giving them credit. I just donât think they are as disciplined and organised as Sunrise, and they will keep suffering in the ratings while this occurs.
