So many people missing…
Maybe had other commitments.
yeah, all his previous co-hosts, who all work in the media still, all had other commitments over the past like month which prevented them from pre-recording short videos for his anniversary.
Am I missing something? Because everytime I count years starting with 2005, I get to 21. When you take out 2019, you are still left with 20 years.
It was February that he started, Steve’s last day the top story was Charles and Camilla getting engaged and that was mid-Feb 2005. Karl then started the next Monday from the new set.
What? He started 20 years ago to this day, 19 years hosting
Which makes this his 20th year.
The anniversary is described as “20 Years On” so like any anniversary or birthday, they’re celebrating 20 years to the day since he started. The strange thing was that they also celebrated a few weeks ago by suggesting this was the start of his 20th season on air.
So if you count all those seasons from 2005 to 2025 (even ghough 2025 had only just dtarted) that’s 21 and take 1 season he was off air brings you back to 20. That was a strange way of counting an anniversary and that was my point.
Looks like theyre sending Karl over to Vegas to host for the opening NRL games.
He’s hosting Today from Vegas, not sure if he’ll be involved in the NRL coverage given he doesn’t normally, but might make a brief appearance or two.
Rogue idea: but they should give Sam Thaiday (the new winner of ■■■■■■■■) a shot doing a shift or two as sports presenter and see how he fares
Ooh good one
Olympian Cate Campbell is sports presenter today

Daily Mail Insider says:
The network’s lovestruck execs are so determined to re-sign $3million man and breakfast show star Karl Stefanovic, they’ve pulled out all the stops in a desperate bid to win his affections before his contract expires later this year.
Keen to cover the US election live from Washington, D.C.? You got it, Karl.
Want to interview Opposition leader Peter Dutton for 60 Minutes? Here’s a film crew.
The opening round of the NRL season live from Las Vegas, you say? Funny you should mention that - we’ve already booked your business-class airfares.
Just last month, they dedicated 11 minutes of airtime to celebrating Stefanovic notching up 20 years as co-host of the Today show.
Just last week, they dedicated another six-and-a-half minutes to celebrating (you guessed it) Stefanovic notching up 20 years on the Today show.
We hear Nine’s determined execs are even looking at launching a new late-night show built around Stefanovic.
Pang vs Stefanovic in the late night wars
Somehow, I don’t think that’s the sort of “late-night show” Nine are considering for Stefanovic. I’d say it would be much more like some form of Nine News Late replacement.
