They just need to paint the grey set frames to a lighter colour, the gunmetal look is just way too dark for breakfast and the set in general.

I honestly think it would make the set look worse. The brightness can come from the wall-to-wall screens they have. Plus the space is multipurpose, so the grey adds to the versatility.
Might have to put the Cash Cow out to pasture with Today closing the gap on Sunrise in the national ratings and winning the 5 cities 199,000 to 179,000 on Tuesday.
