Seven was back on top on Wednesday though with a margin of just one on a competitive night. Nine’s share was its best on a Wednesday since Easter outside of last week’s Origin. ABC and 10 were close to their average while SBS was down.
With Seven running a split schedule, that saw Nine’s coverage of the Australian Swimming Trials top the 7.30 pm timeslot with 757k, up 15k from Tuesday. Seven’s line up featured The 1% Club (490k) in three states and Dream Homes (240k) elsewhere for a combined average audience of 730k. MasterChef saw 670k tune in for its biggest Wednesday audience of the season.
ABC’s night included Gruen that lifted to its best audience since the season opener while Hard Quiz was on a three-week high.
Later, The Front Bar had 540k, below average for this year while NCIS Sydney hit a Wednesday high and Nine’s Ski Rescue Down Under was just over 300k.
Tipping Point maintained its big lead over The Chase with Deal or No Deal making the top 30 again.
Commercial breakfast TV was again closer than usual with Today winning the metro market for the second consecutive day.
