Maybe because she is a new reason to tune in.
Or,which is more likely, is that the new Today will be less about Karl. A move that they should have approached when Lisa joined. It is also more than likely also that Georgie will sit on the left next year (like Sunrise).
Sylvia likely to be back tomorrow too.

To be honest, I personally hope Nine’s positioning of Georgie over Karl in their promos for 2018 might be a sign that he’s on the way out.
