Since launching in 2024, Tipping Point Australia has quickly become Australia’s No.1 daily game show.

Building on its success with viewers across the nation, in 2025 Tipping Point Australia promises to deliver even more excitement, heart-pounding drama and unforgettable moments as contestants battle it out for cash prizes.

This year there will be a fresh slate of contestants from all walks of life, each bringing their own stories, strategies and personalities to the table. It all starts with a thrilling episode on Monday, where Todd puts three new contestants to the test.

Paediatric doctor-in-training Hannah, 38, retail operation manager Suzanne, 56, and lumbar yard manager Jakob, 25, will go head to head to make it to the jackpot round. Who will take home the cash?

Todd Woodbridge said: “I’m thrilled to bring Tipping Point Australia back to our incredible fans. Tipping Point has captivated audiences with its unique blend of knowledge and luck, becoming a staple of Australian television.

“The new season will continue to celebrate the show’s signature blend of suspenseful game play and heartwarming moments, showcasing the highs and lows of contestants’ journeys.”

It reminded me from last night’s Australian Open men’s singles final telecast. Right after a promo for Tipping Point aired early in the second set, Jim Courier joked on air that he would break “every law available” and use a VPN to watch the game show in America.

Now imagine if America picked up the franchise - either Courier or another famous game show host could host their version!

We could rule Jane Lynch out, as she hosts their revived version of Weakest Link which has been a success (unlike our 2021 version which lasted ten regular episodes).

This animated image creeps me out every time I see it

I feel like the US would make the machine even bigger and the money huge! Like maybe utilising the risky end game for like $1m?!

On their prime time version of Weakest Link (both the Anne Robinson and Jane Lynch versions), the maximum potential jackpot was $1M, but needless to say, it was never won.

Each counter would need to be at least $1,000 or something.

I imagine the US would try to make the machine as big as the TV show The Wall if that didn’t already exist as a format.

And the contestants would be the counters!

These type of shows don’t really travel well to the US - they don’t suit primetime and it’s almost impossible to break into the syndication market. Would probably end up being sued by CBS too for being a rip off of Plinko.

The US version would turn it into a chocolate machine. If you’ve played the chocolate machines in the pub, you know what I’m talking about.

I keep thinking of amusing scenarios to this

  • the coins mysteriously go up a shelf
  • machine gets up and walks around
  • machine talks to players in the voice of Fred Flintstone
  • Grant Denyer secretly superimposes his head onto some coins in an attempt to gain viewers
