Is anyone going to watch Ticker Jump Start on Monday?

Nope.

Pell 2.0?

because no one has told me if its a bussiness breakfast show or not

I suspect you’ll get more Big Brother chat than business talk. It’s one of the reasons why I seldom bother with the Blackbox podcast now.

Don’t know most of those names. And what style is it they are going for with Ben?

I’m really curious what the target demo for this show is as the content sounds like utter garbage. Certainly doesn’t entice me to sample it so I would be interested who it would appeal to

I don’t mind the graphics package, but Ben just sounds so lifeless and boring… there’s no energy in that promo whatsoever.

For a new alternative brekky show, what’s the compelling reason to tune in? Who even knows it’s a breakfast show? If the super at the bottom didn’t say 7am weekdays, you’d almost think this was a midday chat show or something.

Wonder what kind of breakfast audience they’re targeting with all those guests next week, doesn’t really seem to suit the other programming they have.

I never doubted that. But outside of here I don’t see the audience for this venture, happy to be proven wrong and wish Ahron the best. I could see it working as a lifestyle platform ala Mammamia for young business people, with more written content and shorter videos but I don’t see live streaming this sort or content being that attractive.

I agree, I may be missing the mark but don’t people tune into breakfast TV shows for a combination of news, a bit of light entertainment etc. Just by going off the promo alone it seems like a video version of New Idea which is what I’m not looking for when I wake up.

“… he will teach us on how to stay fit in COVID-19”. Good grief.

My IQ dropped about 80 points just watching that promo. I find it hard to believe there’s an appetite for such vacuous garbage at Breakfast.

We will see how the show turns out this week. Agree, I am not sure who the target audience is here.

A good formula would be a mix of news updates, say every 15 minutes, and some form of business related interview. Keep it casual too.

I don’t agree about the commentary regarding the hosts however, I think they are great, they fit right into the Ticker ecosystem and should relate to their intended target audience. Wish them the best.

But you just said your not sure who the intended audience is so how do you know the hosts will for right in with their target audience?

I assume their intended audience for the breakfast show is the same for Ticker itself, young people who have an interest in business that aren’t economists, exactly what the hosts can portray.

When I watched the original promo, I was slightly confused, as it advertised a finished product completely different from what I thought it would be and does not suit the target audience of Ticker itself.

This service appears to have only a handful of viewers, so it has time to massage the content as it trys to build an audience. Though that promo doesn’t interest me at all. It looks like an ad for infomercials.

I don’t mind the graphics package for this show, but is the audio as awful for me as everyone else?

Ben seems a little out of his element in the beginning, call it first show nerves or something but he doesn’t come across as very warming either.

Also, why are they sitting so close together? Forgetting social distancing for a minute, but it almost looks like they’re joined at the hip.

They’ve also tagged the wrong twitter account for Ben in their post too.
