Seven’s Home And Away triple episodes were again the top performers on Thursday with the top rated slipping just below 800k dropping to 719k for the third episode. However, Nine managed an narrow prime time win.
Nine’s RBT was up 45k to 630k which was good enough for a top 10 spot. Grand Designs Australia on ABC was down slightly to 543k while The Celebrity Traitors UK episode 6 was down 20k to 239k on 10. Eva Longoria: Searching For Spain improved for SBS but still only averaged 94k.
RPA on Nine then had 393k to be ahead of the Jim Jefferies And Friends Season 1 final that dropped 65k to a season low of 264k. Long Lost Family on ABC was steady with 308k while a Gogglebox encore of Sunday’s episode had 210k. Meanwhile, From That Small Island: The Irish Story on SBS had 127k.
Over on 9Go! Love Island Australia had 277k with 226k from BVOD.
Later, A+E After Dark with 152k was just ahead of First Dates UK that managed 140k while a Portrait Artist Of The Year encore had 137k.
Nine’s Oaks Day coverage had 318k and 186k. That was up on last year that had had 254k and 166k.
The racing coverage, however, did not provide a good lead in to the rest of Nine’s schedule with Seven News posting a big win at 6pm while The Chase was on a five-week high. Sunrise had a near 100k win at breakfast while Deal or No Deal had 238k at 7pm on 10 after 10 News+ had 145k.

9News was the No. 1 program across Australia with People 25-54. It was also the No. 1 news bulletin across the 5 City Metro in Sydney and Brisbane with Total People. The combined national bulletins secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.741 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.075 million - up 5.0% year-on-year. On 9Now, it claimed a BVOD Audience of 126,000 - up a huge 56.5% on the same night last year.
A Current Affair dominated the 7.00pm timeslot across Australia with Total People. It recorded a National Total TV Reach of 1.367 million and a Total TV National Audience of 899,000 - up 3.0% year-on-year. On 9Now, it registered a BVOD Audience of 95,000 - up 41.8% year-on-year.
Melbourne Cup Carnival - Oaks Day registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.128 million, a Total TV National Audience of 318,000, up 20.5% year-on-year and a BVOD audience of 42,000, up 75.0% year-on-year

The Oaks Day coverage was a poor lead-in to 6pm for Sydney and Melbourne. Nine just won the metro market with Seven winning Melbourne after yesterday’s third place. The Chae won Adelaide and Perth.
