The final Married At First Sight of the week scored the season’s lowest rating, just below the launch figure but still enough to dominate Thursday viewing with 1.46m.

Home And Away’s three episodes provided some competition with 836k for episode one dropping to 728k for the 8pm episode, all down on last week’s numbers.

David Attenborough’s Parenthood on 10 dropped 40k to 245k while Grand Designs Transformations at 8pm was up 30k. Toronto Airport Uncovered had 109k for SBS.

Nine’s Olympic Winter Games coverage ahead of the Opening Ceremony on Saturday morning included a Night Session on 9Gem from 8pm AEDT with main channel coverage following MAFS just after 9pm. Nine’s coding included Night Session 2 that had 511k and Late with 215k while the Night Session was outside the top 30 with 177k.

The movie The Proposal was rolled out again by Seven and managed 338k, just ahead of Amanda & Alan’s Italian Job that was up 40k to 320k. The Graham Norton Show dropped 20k to 189k on 10.

Seven News did well to be 130k ahead of Nine’s 6pm bulletin especially with Nine having a 70k lead from the 5pm game show contest. Millionaire Hot Seat on 10 at 7pm improved slightly from Wednesday to 322k. At the same time A Current Affair had 970k with ABC News dropping to 902k.

At breakfast, Sunrise with 427k was well ahead of Today (295k) and News Breakfast (246k).

The most-watched infomercial in Australian TV history, I bet. Still a wide gap between Night 2 and Late, which tells me the codings have been applied in local time instead of AEDT.

Well, it’s Nine, so not hoping much in that aspect. Feb 13 can’t come soon enough.

MHS saw a slight rebound. The 9pm competitors did OK for what they’re worth.

MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT CONTINUES ITS DOMINANCE AS AUSTRALIA’S NO.1 PROGRAM

  • Married at First Sight was Australia’s No. 1 program with Total People and all key demographics. It was also the No. 1 program with People 25-54 and People 16-39 in all five metro capital cities. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 2.584 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.458 million - up 2.2% year-on-year. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD audience of 487,000 - up 41.6% when compared to the same day last year.

  • 9News was the No. 1 news bulletin across the 5 City Metro and in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with Total People and all key demographics. The combined national bulletins registered a National Total TV Reach of 1.910 million and a Total TV National Audience of 1.174 million (up 13.8% on the same night last year). On 9Now, its BVOD Audience of 177,000 was up an impressive 84.4% year-on-year.

  • A Current Affair won the 7.00pm timeslot with Total People across Australia and in Sydney and Brisbane. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.587 million and a Total TV National Audience of 970,000 - up 12.8% year-on-year. On 9Now, it recorded a BVOD Audience of 164,000 - up a massive 110.3% on the same night last year.

  • Tipping Point Australia was the No. 1 afternoon game show with Total People and all key demos across Australia. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 1.323 million and a Total TV National Audience of 692,000, up 9.0% year-on-year. It recorded a BVOD audience of 96,000 lifting the timeslot by an impressive 88.2% when compared to the same day last year.

  • Today was the breakfast program of choice with Total People in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It secured a National Total TV Reach of 764,000 and a BVOD audience of 49,000 - up 22.5% on the same morning last year.

  • The 9Network was the No.1 network on Thursday across the 5 City Metro with Total People and all key demos.

  • 9Now was the No.1 CFTA BVOD Platform on Thursday across Australia with Total People and all key demos.

Nine easily won all markets. The margins were

Sydney 18 (Seven was 3rd again)
Melbourne 14
Brisbane 20
Adelaide 10
And even Perth 8

Despite a big national win to Seven, Nine News was ahead for the 6th consecutive day. Seven not helped by Sydney and Brisbane results.

Tipping Point won all markets.

Today had a poor result as Seven had a Melbourne win.

So to sound like a broken record, that 6pm hour….I can’t believe they are trying to build this gameshow super hour, and get a following for MHS, yet by episode 4 they are shoving in repeats of DOND and on a night without a big reality franchise.

So stupid, however the shining light, MHS actually went up slightly so it might have a 300k+ following consistently, regardless of lead ins or outs

Maybe trying to make the night of the repeat unpredictable? The next couple of weeks the repeat is on Tuesday or Wednesday :thinking:

How many episodes have been taped? Is it around 200?

Even if there are no repeats whatsoever, it can easily last a full year. Or are they trying to stretch into 2 years?

This is my point, I won’t go off track too much, but after weeks of 6:30 repeats, people are just gonna assume there are no new episodes if they tune in and get repeats and miss the new ones.

The 9Network reached 2.405 million Australians on Day 1 of its coverage of the Winter Olympic Games 2026.

Winter Olympic Games 2026 Night Session D-1 (19:00-21:00) - achieved a National Total TV Reach of 476,000, a Total TV National Audience of 177,000 and a BVOD audience of 21,000.

Winter Olympic Games 2026 Night Session 2 D-1 (21:00-22:30) - dominated its timeslot across Australia with Total People and all key demos. It achieved a National Total TV Reach of 1.649 million, a Total TV National Audience of 511,000 and a BVOD audience of 103,000.

Winter Olympic Games 2026 Late D-1 (22:30-24:00) - achieved a National Total TV Reach of 716,000, a Total TV National Audience of 215,000 and a BVOD audience of 46,000.

Winter Olympic Games 2026 Late Extended D-1 (24:00-02:00) - achieved a National Total TV Reach of 360,000, a Total TV National Audience of 86,000 and a BVOD audience of 22,000.

The 9Network was the No. 1 network across the 5 City Metro with Total People and all key demos.

However small, might as well reveal that 5-7am 9Gem coding just to complete the picture. Hope to see the Overnight session data tomorrow.

Tells me all the times mentioned are Brisbane’s.

So apparently 511,000 was there between 10pm and 11.30pm AEDT. Bit crazy TBH. Don’t think Oz TV has seen such a high viewing figure in late night for anything probably since Paris, really.

It coincided with a standalone hockey game.

Wonder if Seven News’s better figures in Melbourne, and The Chase’s better showing are the result of Tipping Point being “rested” during the Australian Open? It allowed viewers to rediscover Larry and his show again.

Nine’s Married - still pulling in a crowd. While the Winter Olympic Games also getting eyeballs in at a later time. Some good numbers for the late segment of an average of 214k (for the 10.30pm - 12.00am slot) and 86k for the “late-Extended” (of 12.00-2.00am).

Poor numbers for Attenborough. Okay-ish numbers for Millionaire Hot Seat. Don’t get me started for Deal repeats numbers. They should be new episodes until Hot Seat starts with their repeats on Fridays in coming weeks… Anyhoo.

At least 10’s Late News is the number one “late news” out there - beating ABC’s and SBS’s versions (while Nine is on a break during the Winter Games).

I’m a Celeb Encore at 10.30am getting 72k? Not bad numbers for that timeslot.

That’s what happened last year, thats why a few weeks back I suggested they should’ve even had repeats on at 5pm on one of the multis to avoid it happening again this year.

By end Feb, they were way in front again however
