The Nine Network had a good result on an otherwise quite Thursday night with its 50 Year celebration of John Farnham special drawing 865k national viewers and giving the network a two-point win. Nine was up three week-on-week as Seven dropped by two. ABC and 10 were up slightly with SBS underperforming at a 12-week Thursday low.

Nine’s special was ahead of the new season of Highway Patrol with 556k and 506k that was well below the results that triple Home and Away had achieved in previous weeks.

Grand Designs on ABC saw 532k tune in while that was up 40k on last week while Top Gear Australia had 247k, also a 40k improvement.

Later, RPA on Nine was a timeslot leader despite dropping 80k with a later start time. Long Lost Family on ABC and Australia’s Most Dangerous Prisoners on Seven were both around the 350k mark with 10’s repeat movie averaging just 118k.

Earlier, Home and Away had a slightly higher average for its one episode and was second at 7pm. At breakfast it was a 100k win to Sunrise.

Is it possible to include Neighbours ratings every now and again in those outside Top 30?

I wonder what it gets. Must be diabolical?

Must be one of DOND lowest figures. Did 10s multis help those Demos?

Its metro numbers mustve been in the 5 digits and very slightly above 6 digits for its primetime

Hard to justify an expensive game show like DOND with those figures

Is it expensive?

They get good value out of it I would have thought, highly repeatable, sold to overseas territories, sponsor tie-in’s like with Lotto / Board Games etc. Demos are usually decent too.

Any reason why they have gone away from the 3 Thursday episodes?

With 9 winning Wednesday & Thursday, they might win the week

They haven’t done away with it. It’s not a regular schedule. Some weeks there’s 3 some weeks there’s 1. It’s not every week.

They have had 3 a week since the AFL Thursday ended haven’t they?

Dunno. When was that? It’s an irregular schedule.

Last Thursday AFL main channel was 8 weeks ago, 5 Sep

I keep saying it… make Home and Away a 7.30 program, hourly twice a week.

But home and away itself had more viewers with just 1 episode

So the question is, does the 730 to 830 portion rate significantly lower? (When we used to get metro breakdowns the week after including consolidated, episodes 2 +3 were much less than episode 1)
