Apparently there will be a fourth judge for this season after all. The Sunday Telegraph says a new promo will air soon on Seven, showing a new āunderdog judgeā who would mentor contestants who had been let go by Adam, Iggy and Guy. I wonder who the new judge is and if it would happen after the auditions or the boot camp.

Two very good ads there, I hope the changes work for them as it looks like they are addressing the criticisms of the show.

Mel B to return to X Factor?
Itās starting to feel like they are making up this season as they go. It seems like a very last minute decision to bring it back, and now after doing promos and announcing the judges we have a last minute new judge. Seems a bit silly. I would hope then that we get more live shows than they initially intended for just 4 weeks.

If they are calling this season āNext Generationā I think the 4th judge needs to be someone who is a currently successful artist. All 3 on the judging panel are current stars who are still extremely successful. Putting Mel B a washed up former pop star and former judge kind of kills the next generation theme IMO.
Iām not sure we need a nasty judge eitherā¦ we just need someone with personality. So far I think all 3 judges are strong in that department. Iād personally like the 4th judge to be someone like Jessica Mauboy. Although it wonāt surprise me if they do go the nasty judge angle as they will make out like this is the surprise final judge who is back for revenge with eliminated contestants.

Anyone reckon Simon Cowell is an option to fill that void given its a shorter series run this year?
I havenāt checked whether The X Factor Australia clashes with his duties on other reality shows but he might be an outside chance if they are looking to rebuild the brand here.
Ratings of Britainās Got Talent recently show that he still resonates strongly with Australian audiences.
Havenāt you heard she is relaunching her career with a āSpice Girlsā come back. 
That is totally Next Generation.
It will clash with the UK.
