Charlie is recycling lots of stuff; Steve Vizard (Fast Forward), Judith (Rove), Gleeson (This Week Tonight). Not to mention the who concept and the previous backdrop which is all Last Week Tonight.
Judith Lucy is just so unbearable. Sheâs not funny at all.
The whole show is different this season (I havenât watched since S1 so do correct me if it changed before). The format is a lot different, and less John Oliver-ish. Itâs almost a bit like Charlie Brookerâs shows now, the new set is interesting. Not sure what to make of all the changes.
I like the five stages of corona virus - i posted that in a thread weeks ago.
Forward guides show that the season 6 final will be Wednesday 3 June meaning there will be six episodes in the season.
Is Charlie going to wear the same ugly tablecloth shirt every week?
Is this because of ABC cutbacks?
I like Judith Lucy a lot as a stand-up comedian, but both her segments for The Weekly so far have been woeful.
I donât know who thought wasting the time of a public health academic at this point for this weekâs segment was a good idea, but it was both un-funny and awkward to watch.
Yeah. That segment just didnât work.
The whole âwhat about meâ thing for the Judith Lucy segments is just falling flat and annoying. Luke McGregor on the other hand has been a good addition
Iâve stopped watching. Judith Lucy is a major turn off.
She is definitely not Kitty.
So Charlie found a jacket this week but still wore the same ugly tablecloth shirt underneath. WTF?
Is he trying to do a Karl Stefanovic and wear the same shirt for the whole year? Or is he in desperate need of another shirt? Where can I donate some of mine?
Next Wednesday (July 15) is the 100th episode. Charlie said at the end of tonightâs show there would be a special announcement next week.
At least he swapped it for a Bunnings red polo for part of the show tonight.
I have a feeling the show might not return next year
Is that just a hunch? Idk, Iâve enjoyed it â although the last couple of seasons were better than this one, largely due to not having a studio audience
I wouldnât be surprised if the ABC had to part ways with it. I would hope 10 would go after this. Its the perfect show for them.
Admittedly, the very first thought which came to mind (especially with the recently announced ABC budget cuts) after reading âspecial announcement next weekâ was that it might be the final episode.
I feel like itâs really lost itâs way this year content wise. The sad contestant stories of Millionaire Hot Seat, and Boltâs whiskey segment were funny the first couple of times, but is that all theyâve got, week after week? And Judith Lucyâs interview devolving into madness every single week really isnât funny anymore either. The Study segment and the news parts are still the strongest parts of the show, I just wish there were less of the same filler.
