Yeah I noticed the stream was down. Was driving between kids sports grounds so got it on fm. Hopefully it will come up on the listen again stream.
Regarding webservers, this photo was just posted in their Discord, which is something I had previously mentioned to be cautious about, and why I took the TEF module + Arduino route. I think any device with the battery on charge 24/7 could spell disaster.

Good on you!
Noice.
But you can never leave!
One of us!
And âyour (next) mission, Jim, should you decide to accept it, is to do a FW upgrade on the radio & take it on a dx excursion. And remember as always, should you or any of your DX colleagues be caught acting peculiarly in a public space with radio, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This tape will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Jim.â

Just got mine back up here in Melbourne. Not the most ideal setup, but will work on something more permanent over the next little while.
Yet to explode
Anyone running V2.1 or later found a way to turn off Long PS? I canât see one under RDS or Display settings.
This morning I upgraded my TEF6686 firmware to v2.11
@RFBurns did you experiment with Long PS or was it just RDS2 with the logo?
@Radiohead I had a look in the menu too & I couldnât see a switch for switching between standard PS & Long PS (where used). Would be good to have such a feature.
Perhaps @AJ1 might know more?
Thanks for checking.
But having said that, and after seeing it in operation first hand on Breeze and Rebel, I think the TEF screen is too small for Long PS to be truly useful. It ends up looking like another (albeit better) version of scrolling Dynamjc PS text, which i know is not popular around here.
Maybe itâs just that Breeze and Rebel have tried to put too much text in it?
Yes I think the TEF6686 screen would be better redesigned for Long PS. At least a switch to turn feature on/off in the radio would be a start.
The TEF prioritises LPS over PS, and as far as i know there are no configuration options. The developers consider suggestions on Discord (NXP TEF6686 Community) and feature requests via Github PE5PVB/TEF6686_ESP32 Ideas ¡ Discussions ¡ GitHub
i.e.
- LPS: ON/OFF/ONCE
- LPS only on the advanced RDS screen
- increasing display area for LPS
or however you would prefer it work for you.
Itâs a great radio + software!
No long PS, just RDS2 with the logo, I canât find any setting in our RDS encoder to enable long PS, not to say it canât be done, I just canât find how to at the moment.
Iâm trying to update my radio but havenât had any luck. Does anyone know if this version of the TEF6686 have the boot button?
I just get this:
Formatting filesystem......
Uploading software......
Error uploading Please check the COM-port and radio for download state.
Press any key to exit the update tool.
Youâve got to pull it apart to get to the boot button
Thanks for that. I was hoping that wouldnât be the case as my screws were extremely tight but I was finally able to get them off and update the radio :).
Well done, Iâm glad I got the blue one so I donât need to do that.
