The Project đŸȘŠ

And that’s a wrap

I just want to take a moment to say how much The Project has meant to so many over the years. It’s been more than just a news show - it’s been part of so many nightly routines including mine, it is a show that made us laugh, made us think, and sometimes even made us cry.

There’s been so much heart, honesty, and courage in the stories that were told - and that doesn’t happen by accident.

A massive shoutout to everyone behind the scenes who worked so hard to bring it to air night after night. The producers, writers, camera crews, editors, hair and makeup, wardrobe etc etc the list goes on - all the people we don’t see, but who put in the hours to make it all happen.

And of course, to everyone who’s watched along the way (or commented) thank you. Whether it was just for a laugh, a serious story, or to feel a bit more connected to the world - they shared something pretty special.

The Project really has been a big part of Aussie life it didn’t set the ratings on fire but it did get conversations flowing.

Now, let’s have the booze flowing tonight.

What woke opportunism are you referring to? I’d love you to reply to me in your definition.

Using Aboriginal land names is not woke

And I also think it’s particularly hypocritical for the right wing to carry on about “censorship” and “woke” and then also whinge that a show like The Project doesn’t perfectly align with their ideological lens, or complain that people want to acknowledge Indigenous place names.

You can not watch the Project, and not use Indigenous place names and still exist in Australian society just fine. No one is forcing blackbox to sit through an eight-hour welcome to country every day.

Shows and people with different points of view are allowed to exist, and most people are pretty tolerant of that. Those who complain about “policing” - from both extremes - are usually guilty of it themselves.

Probably not my best explanation there tbh.

I’d love some examples of this. I always welcomed people who disagreed with me.

Please provide proof of this statement, which I believe to be untrue.

And isn’t it interesting your use of the word ‘champ’ as a way of demeaning me.

It’s a bit like Plane Geeks who refuse to accept the Qantas bashing for its crap service and product. Which goes to my point, the attachment to the show is different across demographics.

Look, this is a media platform, many on here have more interest in the production values of the broadcast, the attachment to the show is probably a bit different vs 99% of the population. You won’t really get those opinions on here. I have an interest in the production side of the industry, but k also have an interest in accountability.

I agree. Which is why I chose not to watch the show.

I wasn’t demanding it be cancelled. I always thought it was strange the show was still on air though due to its high cost and low ratings.

Argh  That was tough

Bravo and farewell! What another legacy carved into Australian television.

If you had evidence and examples of this you would’ve reported on it, and revealed it as a major exclusive.

You’re so quick to report on things that turn out to be false why should we believe this?

You don’t know for a fact. You’re just bitter.

I have a feeling she has a bit of imposter syndrome. While I disagree with that, a few comments she has made the last week or two, Alamos feel like she failed the show etc I’m not being able keep it running etc.

Not to pile on, but you did kind of walk out in a huff from the podcast when the others disagreed with you and as a result it folded because you knew the others couldn’t run it on their own
. And 4BC is damn right wing. As is Sky
.
There is a bit of a history in you not being to take what you dish out. And I say that with the most respect as I admire a lot of the projects (oops punny) you have tried.

Big accusation there. My reporting has always been 99% correct. Do you have examples of where I have been wrong?

How dare you accuse the way I report things when you are talking through your arse. And what does bitterness have to do with anything. Provide facts or shut up.

I have not used that story for official publication as I would have to give specific details and I am not prepared to do that as it was told to me in confidence.

I put my name to everything I say and do, while you choose to attack me without using your real name.

Tbh I shouldn’t feel the need to justify myself to people like you as you will never give me the benefit of the doubt, despite my track record.

Rove wasn’t on the show tonight to say his goodbyes. A lot of his fans in here were surely disappointed :stuck_out_tongue:

Sky News or not, the individuals being interviewed called out the show not Kenny.

I was expecting Sam Mac, Fifi Box, Fitzy, Jules Lund to appear via video message

I’ll tell you why I walked out on the podcast. I was being accused of something false and I decided not to partake in something where I was being accused of lying.

I always spoke honestly and from the heart but I was challenged in a personal and hurtful way which had nothing to do with my opinions or the facts, but rather me as a person and I decided to remove myself from the situation.

I stand by that decision.

It was a show of highlights not lowlights.

Agreed. Quite a few people who used to be regular guests missing.

Yeah I feel bad for Sarah, she said she apologised to Carrie for not being good enough to fill her shoes and keep the show going. Obviously it’s not her fault but she seems to have taken it maybe more personally than some of the other hosts.
