The final week promo that has been running.
PS. An early appearance by Waleed on the show 2012
They said good bye and thanked their Sydney team tonight.
It was technically their last show. I would say some of the Sydney crew may move to the new show.
They thanked the Sydney crew at the end of the show. Telling us that the Sunday version has a different crew to the rest of the week. And will miss them all. Sarah and Rachel Corbett were a bit emotional at the end.
Do we know what is happening with Georgie Tunmy?
No network broadcasts a show and hopes for low audience numbers. I think the network would be stoked to have massive ratings for the last week. Comparisons of the new show with an old show shouldn’t matter.
Noted on Friday:
And for what it’s worth The Sunday Project had its highest rating of the year yesterday though all news numbers trended higher due to the Middle East conflict.
I’m getting a bit sick of the “the project helped me with my career, started my career, it did that, we are so good” segments/posts and comments.
Yes it’s sad and it’s good to lament success, but lord if you think this is going to help you get picked up by another network….. ![]()
It’s actually true tho. They started from the Project. For example Julie Goodwin. She went on doing amazing stuff since winning MC.
not sure The Project can take credit for that
Are you suggesting that The Project is paying or asking their former guests to say that and it’s not the genuine views of the people saying it?
As if that’s the reason they’re saying it. The ones who have been saying it are entertainers who are saying The Project has been a great place for creatives to share their news or latest work. Losing The Project is leaving a big gap in prime time television where they can do that.
Oh for entertainers and for performers I totally get it from that perspective. Let’s calm down the rage.
I moreso mean The Project social team have been clipping guests segments up and posting that part as the caption as the main part of the segment / video without focus on the actual reasons the talent is there which comes as more secondary.
I moreso said the “a reboot” line as more in jest, which it seems it’s been taken seriously…. Don’t worry
JBar, I’m not that delusional. ![]()
To clarify it is sad the show is end, but for the staff who now need to find work. However, it is time that the show ended especially due to the massive costs for the network, and quite frankly it pulls down their whole schedule.
There of course will be spikes in audience across this week and no doubt the sales teams will be making some decent coin for the network off the end of it.
Let us see what the ratings are like for the replacement program. I have a feeling they will struggle to attract advertisers in the slot that already has two commercial news programs from 6pm and another at 6.30pm with adverts.
The cost saving will still outweigh revenue for it though. The project costs a bomb and has been stalemate for the network for a while.
If it breaks even it’ll be a success because 10 own the IP as well as the content. The Project they don’t
Great little reflection from Steve Price tonight.
Whilst I don’t agree with his politics I’ve always liked him. He seems like a genuine guy.
As a sydneysider I first came across Steve during his daily cross to John Stanley’s afternoon show on 2UE in the late 90s. He would cross before starting the drive show on 3AW. Those segments were my favorite. I then sort of followed him around as he has some sensible things to say. He’s not as extremist as all ther right wing psychopaths that traverse the Australian media.
He’s got a great sense of humour. He’s a more tolerable right wing nut job.
Steve has always helped balance the show out.
They wouldn’t dare ask Meshel Laurie back lol
