i wonder how much CBS was invloved in this - if they were this is a great sign for the future and they are willing to build rather than slash and burn
Iâd say CBS know Ten need a breakfast program and she would/will be first chess piece in achieving that.
I doubt this just happened overnight.

The move was driven by Tenâs Australian bosses. However, the networkâs soon-to-be owner â US corporation CBS â considers Wilkinson to have major star potential. She has been likened to heavy-hitters Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric, and could be asked to do big political and showbiz interviews.

Glad that TEN could find the resources for this type of programming investment at a time of limited funds. Much better to invest in Australians and Australian shows than output deals with US networks.

As predicted the right wing nut jobs are hyperventilating at how lefty and socialist Lisa has gone to lefty and socialist ten. Why does it have to be about that? These morons donât even watch any of these shows.
Just wondering whether they mean the three (Carrie Bickmore, Waleed Aly and Peter Hellyer) arenât going anywhere mean not leaving The Project or not leaving Ten.
One long term option, should the new owners want to pursue a breakfast program or even a morning news program, the 3 current hosts of The Project might get first option on the hosting roles. A new breakfast show could potentially be a similar format to The Project. If in the unlikely event that all three went to a breakfast show or morning news programming, the hosts could be 3 or 4 days on the breakfast show and 1 or 2 days on The Project.
Perhaps Lisa Wilkinson is the piece of the puzzle Ten were needing for The Project, maybe there is a possibility that Ten could be looking at The Project or other news/current affairs program to screen at 6:30pm on Saturday. They could use at least 1 of the 3 current regular hosts each night and rotate them with Lisa possibly doing Sunday to Thursday each week or Monday to Friday, unless a new program was to come in on Saturday night, which Lisa would possibly be the frontrunner
Surely the front page reaction to this news would warrant her role being bigger than a third panelist and replacement host.

I agree. Wasnât Carrie looking at leaving The Project to concentrate on radio?
The Project is dead without Carrie so at least someone at Ten had foresight to find a decent replacement.
News this morning suggesting CBS might want her to be their Dianne Sawyer and doing special interviews.

Peter Ford claiming Lisa has signed a 4 year deal signed off by CBS bosses. She will be appearing at Ten Upfronts in a few weeks he claims.

Sheâs more of a network personality rather than just the project. She will obviously have a roving remit across the network and will feature in CBSâ plans for the news department

Thatâs why I was thinking maybe a flagship news/current affairs program. You arenât going to pay her a big salary to co-host a show like The Project, you would have something a bit bigger in mind - that is unless they plan on doing interview specials with Lisa Wilkinson⌠- perhaps titled ⌠With Lisa Wilkinson

There would have to be bigger plans, rather than just co-hosting The Project. With a reported $2m fee I would assume if The Project was her only role at Ch10 then others on the show may be upset at her getting so much money.
Iâm not a huge fan, but she was the glue that held Today together when Karl split with his wife and started seeing another woman. Many women didnât like what Karl had done, but stayed watching Today because of Lisa. Youâd have to hope theyâve got a someone pretty good to replace her because Karl has lost some of his shine.
Angela Bishop just confirmed on Studio 10 that Lisa will be appearing on two shows during the week plus hosting The Sunday Project as already reported and other things at Ten Angela said.
Starting with Ten in January.

Information out there suggests the new management have plans for Lisa beyond The Project. New show in prime time could be on the cards.
