A weekly musical act to end the show is nice. Just like tonight with Missy.

Am surprised they don’t do this more often.

Seems like a no brainer?

If they wanted to do this more permanently they’d probably have to pre record performances earlier in the week or day even. I can’t imagine too many artists wanting to perform live on The Project on a Friday night when they could be performing to an actual audience. :joy:

Okay that’s a low blow but you know what I mean lol.

This is 10 we’re talking about - anyone who was wanting to perform on their programs would need a pretty nice paycheck for a small network in comparison to what 7 or 9 can offer.

Which is to say that 9 and 7 can’t offer anything given they don’t have live programs like this?

Point I was trying to make if 10 start doing this and getting ratings - other networks will pick up on it and do something similar but with higher budget.

10 can always try this though :man_shrugging:

Nine and Seven can offer a larger audience in the morning. Means they still get exposed to a wide reach while being able to perform at night (and earn more money from selling tickets, etc).

They would probably even get a similar audience figures (especially youth) if they do Triple J Breakfast

Why not have both?

Most artists of a certain level would have gigs well after 7:30 anyway. I can’t think of a concert I’ve been to where the main act has been on before 9. :man_shrugging:

I guess you could but how many artists are playing in Melbourne on a Friday night to be able to book someone every week?

They would get to the venue before then for hair, make-up, sound checks, etc.

I considered that too. They don’t just rock up at go time.

I just assumed most would do sound check in the afternoon sometime, then leave the venue to return later in the evening anyway. Is stage makeup that different to TV? But yeah, logistically may be a challenge, otherwise I’m sure they would have already tried this.

Would be much easier to remain a the venue than to go back and forth.
