Well shame is 10 is just tossing The Project staff out after some of them have been there for many years at the network - hopefully they, along with behind the scenes staff, can find other work in the industry
Weâre discussing it here from The Projectâs angle.
Yes, given BTL has yet to be officially announced itâs a tad messy but thatâs the general gist.
Agree hopefully some of the crew will move onto the replacement show but the rumour is the new show will be made in Sydney so there will also be job losses from the Melbourne studio.
I think The Project has had a pretty good run and ample time to prove itself as a serious competitor against Nine and Seven. Despite generating plenty of headlines and viral moments over the years, it has never translated into strong viewership.
Yes itâs sad that staff will loose their jobs, but thatâs the reality of working in the media industry in 2025.
Sounds like Roving Enterprises contract finishes up on the 14th July. From memory thatâs a similar date the show launched in 2009.
I believe Sarahâs contract might still have another 5 months with the Network. I think sheâll be picked up by Seven or Nine. I could see her co hosting weekend Today in 2026.
This was in The Australian. Unless youâre white or straight you donât rate
Add to that sheâs the most contrarian on there. I find her opinions and takes to be bordering on unreasearched nonsense.
Not another hosting routine on WT
I wouldnât take anything The Daily Fail says seriously as the extent of their journalism is rumour, speculation and occasionally reading online forums and the occasional newspaper. It seems The Australian arent much better.
I think we will know more by the end of the month
Listening to @blackbox on inside Media, it sounds like part of the issue is that all project material belongs to Roving and not 10. If I was 10 Iâd be looking at the option of buying the format and bringing it in house.
Why? 10 owning it wonât change the fact the show has had its day.
It would allow them to make changes, but also to use the footage from the show on our platforms.
Far too late for that now I think.
Depends what the asking price is though⌠if they canât come to terms makes some sense in the current climate to get as much production in house as possible, with or without the project, so they can monetize it.
I think itâs also creative differences between Rove and 10 who wanted to take the show in different directions, Rove wanted more comedy, 10 wanted more serious news.
I thought Ten bought The Project in-house years ago? Did Roving get it back?
I donât think Roving Enterprises will exist after this? Do they do anything else these days?
They only do The Project.
Roving might want to sort something with 10 before they start sinking.
Bring back Rove Live
