The Project (ending June 27)

The Project fate sealed.

I would rebrand The Project and keep it on Friday. Maybe a recap of the top stories of the week?

Maybe the benefits will be saving money.

I can’t see any replacement format getting many more viewers than the project

Where does this leave Sarah Harris & Co I wonder.
Also I’m tipping Millionaire Hot Seat for either Fridays/Sundays or a 30-minute format at 6.30 and the new show at 7. Interesting call by 10.

There just seems to be a few “TBC”

But if true, it will be sad to see The Project go. I did enjoy the format in its early days.

I expect another Game Show to help fill the void.

I’d like another gameshow but you don’t think they’ll just bring prime time to 7pm?

Wonder what they’ll do on Fridays. Rove Live, perhaps? Can’t say I’m sorry to see the back of The Project. It’s had its day. I am sorry that people will lose their jobs, obviously, but hopefully they’ll all find new work very soon.

My prediction

5.00 10 News First (local)
6.00 Deal or No Deal
6.30 New Game Show
7.00 New Current Affairs Show

The Project maybe kept for weekend only.

Yeah it’ll probably be Big Brother at 7? Or - hear me out - they have DOND at 6.30, this new show at 7 and bring back 6pm Simpsons like they’re doing across the ditch :smiling_face_with_horns:

I think they should keep Sarah Harris for the new show because she is good talent and for some continuity.

I think 5pm News, 6pm DOND, 6:30 New Show, 7pm Primetime or
5pm News, 6:30 DOND or New Show, 7pm DOND or New Show.
6:30 would be better after a 90 minute bulletin for flow.

Unless the format for Inside Edition Australia or whatever is washing powders and neighbours and it won’t work, the talent they have for it sounds wrong.

There are many ways 10 could fill the 6pm Sunday hour, one which might seem unlikely at this point would be moving the weekend news on Saturday and Sunday night, a bit like the opposite arrangement to the late 1980s to early 1990s strategy Channel 10 used in NSW during the rugby league season when they held the right (think 10TV Australia days). The alternative would be a current affairs based show either like 60 Minutes or an Australian version of Face The Nation.

The other option could be a game show like Wheel Of Fortune Australia or Millionaire (as some has suggested). Friday could be repeats of perhaps a censored revival of The Panel for early evenings.

Interesting times ahead if 10 does follow through and axes or even change the time, duration or structure of The Project

Problem - Seven owns the FTA rights to The Simpsons, NOT 10

Seven haven’t shown The Simpsons in a very long time.

Does it still?

Given the rules on Australian content and how much 10 lost when it got out of live morning television, the network needs to replace The Project with pretty much all new Australian content. There’s no room for OS content or too many repeats. It was the main reason for introducing the 2 afternoon news bulletins.

Yes I know that. I was joking

That clapping at the end of the show tonight was that loud you couldn’t even hear what Waleed and Georgie were saying.
